Did they change something so that it requires a subscription now?

No. ESPN plus is different. It's all confusing the different names.

This is typically what the fights are on. Most people who have it have it as part of the Disney/Hulu bundle.

Well apparently I've never tried to watch a gamecock game that was only on ESPN+. They must have been only on SEC network +.

Because I've watched a ton of basketball and baseball games and never had to subscribe.

Yeah. Secn plus is included if you have the cable package. Espn plus is different.
