1. Top Five Grades for Florida game

Rivals.com (and thus Gamecock Central) has again partnered with Pro Football Focus to bring their unique perspective to college football games to our subscribers on Gamecock Central.

While subscribers will receive a more in-depth look at some of the grading aspects that PFF offers, here's a look at the top five performers from Saturday's game, for all to read.

For those not familiar with PFF, here's a breakdown of how its grades are formulated.

DE Tonka Hemingway - 85.6

Hemingway played just 10 snaps and usually we'd put in a minimum number of snaps to be included on this list, but the freshman made a game-changing play in his limited reps and deserves a mention for that.

CB John Dixon - 76.8

Dixon was flagged with a questionable pass interference, but was otherwise really good as he earned the start at cornerback. His numbers would be even higher if he could have held on to a potential INT in the second half.

RB Kevin Harris - 76.1

Harris looked like a true SEC workhorse against the Gators, running through and around the Florida defense. PFF had him with five avoided tackles.

DE Aaron Sterling - 70.7

Sterling had two pressures, a sack, three tackles and two "stops," PFF's way of describing a tackle that creates a "failure" for the offense.

DT Jabari Ellis - 69.8

Ellis had four pressures on Kyle Trask with two hurries and two hits of the quarterback.

3. 📅 On This Date

Oct. 6, 2012 - A record home crowd saw No. 6 South Carolina plaster No. 5 Georgia 35-7. The Gamecocks marched 76 yards in five plays in the first possession of the game to take a 7-0 lead and never looked back. The big play of the drive was a 42-yard pass from Connor Shaw to Damiere Byrd, and then the touchdown came on a 20-yard pass from Shaw to Bruce Ellington. Georgia's first possession lasted just three plays, as DeVonte Holloman intercepted an Aaron Murray pass at the Gamecock 31. An 11 play, 69-yard drive ensued, with the last 14 covered by a TD pass from Shaw to Busta Anderson. The USC defense forced a three and out by the Bulldogs and Ace Sanders ensured the rout was on by taking the ensuing punt back 70 yards for a touchdown and a 21-0 lead. There was no scoring in the second, though Georgia did drive to the USC 2 before D.J. Swearinger and Shaq Wilson stuffed a Bulldog fourth-down pass at the one-yard line. USC went conservative with its offense from there, relying on the legs of Shaw and Marcus Lattimore, but did open things up long enough for a 62-yard touchdown pass from Shaw to D.L. Moore with 8:30 left in the third. USC's final score came on the first possession of the fourth quarter, as Carolina drove 89 yards in 14 plays behind the running of Lattimore and Kenny Miles. Shaw scored the touchdown on a 7-yard run to push the lead to 35-0. Georgia would score a late touchdown against Carolina's second-string defense, but this was one of the most dominant efforts in Gamecock history. Shaw summed up the game afterward, "We had a lot of emotion coming into this game. We had a great week of preparation. The intensity was up in our practices. We came out of the gate rolling. We were all hyped up for this game. This was the greatest atmosphere I've ever played in. I saw a tweet where Kirk Herbstreit said GameDay at The Horseshoe was one of the greatest he's ever been a part of so I'm very grateful to the fans."
