Beamer meeting with the media today, scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Expected to update injuries, preview Texas A&M, etc. Stick around for all the fun. Updates will be in this post.

--Starts talking about the Carolina Committed fundraising campaign. Trying to generate $35 million in donations by the end of 2023. Said the initial response has been "great" and allowing the department to get started on some projects.

"We're never going to stand pat here. We're always trying to move forward."

--Congrats to Kai Kroeger and says he's a "fantastic weapon" for South Carolina.

--Said this is a "really, really big" challenge and has a ton of respect for Jimbo Fisher. Said A&M is clicking "in all three phases" at the moment after wins over Alabama and Missouri. They're talented and well-coached.

--Have to be really disciplined defensively because A&M is really explosive. South Carolina offensively will have a big test with that front four and the secondary. Mentions guys are excited to go out there and compete.

Injuries: They're a "beat up football team." Mentions there's a bunch of bumps and bruises. Jaylin Dickerson and Dylan Wonnum are the"most iffy" on if they'll play. Sherrod Greene is progressing well from his injury. The rest is bumps and bruises at every position from top to bottom. Said everyone in the league is beat up right now.

--Luke Doty will miss the remainder of the season. The best decision long term is "to get it healed up." Said they met with a bunch of specialists leading up to that decision. Will have surgery later this week. Zeb Noland will continue to start. Mentions Doty might be one of the toughest players to ever play at South Carolina.

--Jason Brown is the No. 2 right now but he's been impressed with the strides Colten Gauthier has taken this season.

--Jalen Brooks is still "day to day" and Juju McDowell is expected back this week.

--No plans at all to bring Dakereon Joyner back into the quarterback room. Feels good right now with what they have at the quarterback position.

--Doty's handled this as well as he could. They don't think this is something that will keep him out in the spring right now. Doty was at practice Sunday and in the meetings this morning as engaged as he's been. Think he won't be affected long term, but they'll evaluate that as he goes through rehab.

--They never played Doty before he was cleared. Said they wanted Zeb Noland to finish the game at Georgia but wouldn't have put him out there if he wasn't healthy enough to play.

--Have to be better offensively. It's not growing pains seven games into the year and need to stay healthy and be consistent at each positions. Understands the fans want him to say the play calling sucks, but play calling didn't turn the ball over four times or commit penalties. Said he's not piling on players, and they need to coach better as well and put guys in more spots to succeed. Understands it's not always pretty but there are plenty of things to clean up from a player and coach standpoint. The focus this week is preaching fundamentals, and that starts with the coaching standpoint of reinforcing some things there.

--Doty first started to mention his foot wasn't feeling great to the training staff in the second quarter (didn't know if it was a certain play) and tried to play through it. Thought it might just be soreness. Mentioned it to the coaching staff and Zeb later in the game.

--Feel confident in putting a lot of carries on Kevin Harris's plate. Mentions Harris, Lloyd and Z. White are all dealing with bang-ups, but no one is on a "pitch count."

--Asked about some operation issues from a snap perspective in field goals. Said there have been a few. The missed field goal Saturday there was some timing thrown off there. The pace of the snap getting back there messed with the timing. There was a low punt snap and that was Matt Bailey being over the ball too long and holding onto the ball too long. Didn't have any issues in practice either, today.

--Excited about what he sees from a closeness perspective on this team. Said seeing Doty and Noland after the game was a "fantastic moment" and special to see. Goes back to the team, support and loving your brother (the things they preach). Was great to see Zeb Noland help Luke Doty the last few weeks then see Doty do the same against Vanderbilt.

--Thought the secondary played well against Vanderbilt. They were thin back there. Overall they played well but they had four "critical mistakes" that were magnified. They were in three-deep and came out of their zone. Then the secondary had a couple missed tackles that turned into explosives for Vanderbilt. Have to be better from a fundamental standpoint and that starts with coaching better in practice. Secondary's mistakes show up on the board or are magnified. There's no one behind a DB to clean up a mistake. Said they were put in a bad spot with four turnovers and didn't do enough defensively after that.

--Will look into a potential redshirt for Doty as well. Haven't gotten into the weeds on that yet just because they've been getting things in order with the surgery.

--They might look to get Jason Brown some snaps. He got some work with the first offense today but it's Zeb Noland's show moving forward. Compliments Jason Brown dropping weight. Doesn't discount potentially seeing a Jason Brown package but it's Noland's show, he reiterates. They have confidence in Brown if he comes into a game.

That's a wrap for today.
