Beamer will meet with the media at 1:15 p.m. Expected to talk QBs, injuries, preview Florida, etc. Should be a time. Updates in this post.

--Said it was fantastic for the team and coaches to get some time off from game planning. He got to go out recruiting and players got to rest up and get healthy. On recruiting, he got to go out on the road for the first time since taking the job. Said the response was fantastic from coaches. They practiced Sunday and had Monday off and mentioned Tuesday's practice was "fantastic."

--This Saturday will be the military appreciation game. Thanks military personnel for all they do. He's grateful for them and "honored we can have a part to recognize them and all they do for us." A group of student veterans will lead the team out to 2001. They'll have a few other presentations and things they're doing as well.

--Wants an unbelievable environment Saturday night and need a homefield advantage. Said if people can't get excited for a primetime game against a rival in Florida, he can't help you.

--Gators are certainly impressive in terms of talent and personnel. They have size and athleticism defensively and they have a lot of good players. Knows some of them after they recruiting some of those guys when he was at Oklahoma. Have "dominant" coverage units on special teams. "Really impressive" offensively and do well in terms of yards per play and yards per rush. Florida's out-gained opponents in every game this season and had some success in the run game against an elite Georgia defense. Mentions it was a 3-0 game near halftime. Said it's a "really good football team."

--Noland was out there throwing the ball around today at practice, Dylan Wonnum is questionable and Jaylin Dickerson is doubtful.

--In terms of Noland, all of the quarterbacks need to practice well and compete and show they're the best for the job. From a health standpoint, Noland needs to show he's healthy and he's able to move around and evade pass rushers. Noland stayed in town for the bye week to rehab. He needs to do more in practice tomorrow than what he did today in practice.

--In terms of progress offensively, they have to be more efficient and make competitive plays. Are there plays they'd like to have back from a play calling standpoint? Yes. But they lost one-on-one battles against Texas A&M. If they compete and win individual battles in all three phases then it's progress. There's a lot going into that, obviously.

--Jalen Brooks is not anticipated back this week for Florida and there's no timetable for his return. FaceTimed with him last night "for a while" and the hope is to have him back soon.

--Gets a question about recruiting and mentions sometimes during the bye week it's busier than a game week from a recruiting standpoint. Recruiting is "non stop" and he has to set the direction and example for everyone and he spends a lot of time on it. Was exciting to get back on the road and get out recruiting.

--Offensive line this season has not played good enough. Said that's across the board offensively. It's easy to point at the offensive line but it's every position. Said they haven't been good or efficient offensively and "nobody is happy with where we are." Sometimes a run might not look good but that could be a mistake from the quarterback or receiver or tight end missing something as well. Mentions the offensive line will get the bulk of credit or blame.

--Said they just have to try and get better offensively. They weren't good enough offensively against Texas A&M but there are things that they saw that were good in the game (he understands it may not look like it) and in practice. They have to execute and be better. Did some good on good work in practice during the bye and again today.

--In terms of consistency offensively being impacted by the quarterback injuries, said he joked with the pilot when he was on the plane that two quarterbacks were already on it going places to get surgeries. You have to have a quarterback in this league and need to keep him healthy but it's not an excuse. Whoever's in there has to go in and execute and be efficient. It's not ideal having a potential third different starting quarterback this week with two not here last year, but they have to elevate themselves around the quarterback to help out: running backs, coaches, receivers, tight ends, etc.

--EJ Jenkins and Jason Brown are "attached at the hip." Both are great people and were always together, even during recruiting phone calls. They joke with Brown that the ball with him is going to Jenkins 90 percent of the time. Said they have a lot of care and love for one another and it's a "pretty cool story."

--In terms of self-scouting on Sunday and the early part of the week, coaches got in mid-morning, reviewing the A&M film with the team and starting Monday it was a pretty normal self-scout compared to what other teams do. Getting a bye week so late gives them a bigger body of work to look at. They're looking at everything from formations, alignments, coverages, are they disguising things well enough, are they tipping plays on both sides of the ball. Then looked at what they're doing well and why those things are good from a scheme or personnel standpoint. Said they looked at other team games and see what they can take from teams with similar personnel/schematics.

--Team is running a little bit more gap scheme standpoint but primarily a zone scheme. Said he likes zone schemes because you don't necessarily need to have 350-pound linemen across the board mauling people and allows back to either push the ball up on the edge or cut it up. They've been running a lot of inside/outside zone from way back going to spring ball.

--Asked about making progress and seeing stuff carry over to the games, said there's a good opponent coming in but he sees a lot of energy, competitive spirit, edge in the off week. Was pleased with that after being worried with the bye week coming after a big loss on the road. He doesn't have to coax competing and being physical out of his team. His guys like doing that and "they're having fun out there." Said that's what they want, and now they have to coach and play better.

--They have to play EJ Jenkins more. A lot of it is the way they do things offensively is EJ Jenkins and Josh Vann are playing the same receiver position. Said he understands they need to move him around more and he's practicing well enough now to see more playing time.

--Asked about operating and maintaining the transfer portal, said the recruiting department is monitoring the portal pretty frequently. They have contact with high school coaches and hearing information about who's in the portal. He's not monitoring the portal all day long but the player personnel department (Taylor Edwards, Drew Hixson, etc.) is monitoring that.

--Team got a waiver to practice today in terms of practicing today on election day. They talked about it as a team to determine the direction they want to go. Had a team speaker Sunday on voting rights, the voting process, etc. They made it clear to the team they want to help in those processes if they wanted to vote. Team meetings started at 8 a.m., an hour after polls opened, and will facilitate things today if players want to vote. He told the team to go vote and they want them to go vote to take advantage of that opportunity. They want to make that "readily available" for those players to vote.

That's a wrap.
