Went over to Tiger Net.com to see what my fuzzy friends were saying about the E O situation.
After the hundreds of posts about Garcia,...etc I was really expecting some contriteness from
them, but that glaring burnt orange color has blinded most of them.
One post had 74 posts and at least 50 were put downs of the officer that arrested him. The
almost reverant attitude toward Dabo is a little frightening.
Forgotten is the way he handled Sammy Watkins and the kid that threw the girl down the
stairs and the dude that beat the female with the shower rod.
Saint Dabo's halo is untarnished.
Those that listen to Kornblute's " Sports Talk " have heard " Billy from Florence" , a regular
caller since last Fall, extol the virtues of Clemson football team's supposedly superior
character traits as well as the ultra high standards employed by Clemson's recruiting machine.
Nothing but Eagle Scouts and choir boys. AMEN!!!!
After wandering around this planet for 71 years, I know better. Clemson is blessed to have their
bucolic setting, along with the Clemson and PIckens County police departments in their back pockets.
As I have stated before, one of my sons is a Clemson graduate. When he hears " Billy from Florence"
start in with his smug and condescending remarks about the impeccable character of the entire
Clemson athletic family, his laughing can be heard all the way from Great Falls to Florence.
College age kids are going to mess up and do very dumb things, yet the naive Clemson fans,
and they are many, still gulp the orange Kool-Aid, and refuse to face the truth, the truth being
that ALL universities have discipline problems with students ,and athletes, alike. Clemson is not,
and never has been an exception. Period.

LOL, I don't think there are any Clemson fans that believe none of our players ever get in trouble. But as a whole Dabo has recruited some pretty good character guys and we have less get in trouble than a lot of teams-- as does it seem like USC does as well. All of those incidents you mention the players were punished.

LOL, I don't think there are any Clemson fans that believe none of our players ever get in trouble. But as a whole Dabo has recruited some pretty good character guys and we have less get in trouble than a lot of teams-- as does it seem like USC does as well. All of those incidents you mention the players were punished.

dumbo never suspended watkins from the team, though, did he? he was allowed to practice, team meetings, meet with potential recruits, full privileges. And it took dumbo all summer (3 months!!) to decide what he going to do to Watkins.

Thought that was the case too. Did a quick search. He was suspended for "undisclosed reasons" and then reinstated the following spring. Then was ruled "academically ineligible" later that year.

Here I see a lot more criticism of the team/Spurrier even when things were going very well. My statement Is still true. Watkins didn't play for 2 games (120 minutes), but otherwise, he was still on the team. Never kicked off, suspended, didn't miss any practices, team meetings, etc. He just didn't play for 2 games. The press kept asking dumbo what, if anything, was going to happen to Watkins...took him from May 5 until Aug 5 to figure it out.

If a player at Carolina is arrested, Spurrier immediately suspends them from all team--all activities. No practice or acting like nothing happened. Not at clemsux. For Watkins, his punishment was watching 120 minutes from the sidelines.

Went over to Tiger Net.com to see what my fuzzy friends were saying about the E O situation.
After the hundreds of posts about Garcia,...etc I was really expecting some contriteness from
them, but that glaring burnt orange color has blinded most of them.
One post had 74 posts and at least 50 were put downs of the officer that arrested him. The
almost reverant attitude toward Dabo is a little frightening.
Forgotten is the way he handled Sammy Watkins and the kid that threw the girl down the
stairs and the dude that beat the female with the shower rod.
Saint Dabo's halo is untarnished.
Those that listen to Kornblute's " Sports Talk " have heard " Billy from Florence" , a regular
caller since last Fall, extol the virtues of Clemson football team's supposedly superior
character traits as well as the ultra high standards employed by Clemson's recruiting machine.
Nothing but Eagle Scouts and choir boys. AMEN!!!!
After wandering around this planet for 71 years, I know better. Clemson is blessed to have their
bucolic setting, along with the Clemson and PIckens County police departments in their back pockets.
As I have stated before, one of my sons is a Clemson graduate. When he hears " Billy from Florence"
start in with his smug and condescending remarks about the impeccable character of the entire
Clemson athletic family, his laughing can be heard all the way from Great Falls to Florence.
College age kids are going to mess up and do very dumb things, yet the naive Clemson fans,

Dabo has CONTROL of what is reported by the media at Clemson. Ask Pete Yanity, or the owners of Shakin' The Southland, or Mickey Plyler that was threatened with limited access to the program because he "didn't tow the company line" on the radio.....Several examples of if you don't tell the public what Dabo wants reported, then you lose access to the players, coaches, etc.
