"I have done a lot in 26 years but today I was very honored to be able put a smile on Ms. Betty's face and to speak at her son Stevie "Shorty" Gamble's funeral. He was a devoted and dedicated USC Gamecock fan that once rode the goal post to five points after a big victory and loved the 2010 #1 Alabama victory more than any other. Meeting his beautiful mother, daughter, son, wife and friends today to hear that he was a momma's boy and a multi-sport athlete just like me really hit home. It was great to hear stories about him from his family and friends and how passionate he was about his Gamecocks. God just got a great one in heaven! Praying for the family and friends and hope that these hard times bring yall together to remember the good times and celebrate the great life he lived and the people that loved him. I did not get to say it in the service but more importantly Stevie was a man of God. R.I.P. brother hopefully we will meet again someday in heaven!"

Thanks for sharing. It's tough seeing guys pass away at such an early age. I lost my dad when he was only 42 and now I'm 44. It feels strange.

Kyle, if you don't mind, what was your relationship with Mt. Gamble? Just interested in how you two crossed paths with 17 years of age separating you?
