Poorly coached

SFC, the question is will the "powers that are" @USC pull the trigger at the end of this season. It matters not what you and I think. I'm not sure they would. Of course, we fired Jim Carlen (one of the best coaches we ever had, imho....damn that Holderman) and then fired Richard Bell a year later. Who knows?

There is no way Beamer survives this season.

He's lost the fanbase with a game we won. Just wait until we start playing SEC teams.

Poorly coached

Money.

Quick history timeline:

+ Both teams go 8-5 in 2022. We're 40th in Total Offense that season. They are 30th.

+ We beat two top ten teams. They beat UK and lost to every other notable team.

+ Kiffin takes the stage openly begging for money -- Stating the system is rigged and the only way to compete against the better teams in the SEC is to buy up players.

+ Money flows in Oxford from all directions during their off-season and there are openly flaunting it.

+ While Ole Miss is buying up the planet, we're watching our 2022 stars walk out the door.

The rest is history.

Do you honestly believe Wells wouldn't have stayed at USC if we had offered him $250K more than other teams?

Please.

Didn't we finish above them in recruiting that year?

Maybe they just spent their money better than we did? Our recruiting was just smoke and mirrors because we blew our budget on a 5 star who isn't capable of playing the position he wants to play.

JIM Carlen was a piece of CRAP! ... should be in our HOBs.

LOL!!! He already is ... LOL what a joke!!!

I was there Saturday- Observations

Thanks for your honest update on your new game day experience. What did you think inside the stadium atmosphere was like?. Before the lightning delay. 2001 and train entrance. We dodged a huge bullet having the big cloud over head. Bluff rd hasn’t changed in 20 plus years. I’m good with it. It’s my out to Greenville. It’s quicker.

My 2cents. I thought they should have cancelled half time band after the long delay. That was useless - especially with threats of weather still in the area. They didn’t need two 30 min breaks . Maybe they wanted to keep band parents in the stadium a little longer. I’ve been through one before and 1/2 time was like 5-10 min tops.

We have four rows of aisle seats. Best seats ever. Makes letting peeps in and out a breeze. Plus can fit extra people in when needed.

Tanner

Tanner has single handedly changed the football and baseball programs for the worse with multiple poor hires. Neither program is the worst in the country in their sport by any means but the expectations have been clearly lowered. Football program was contending in the SEC east and playing in good bowl games. 12 years later, we're missing bowl games and hoping somehow we can pull out six wins for the upcoming seasons. In baseball we were going to Omaha regularly and competing for national titles. 12 years later, we're getting shutout by James Madison at a road regional to end the season and Omaha is a distant memory. Tanner has tarnished the two Carolina sports I grew up loving the most (I root for men's basketball too which has underperformed on Tanner's watch too). I'm hopeful he knows how to hire the right baseball coach but past decisions for the past 12 years (hiring 3 crap coaches and 1 that's still questionable) don't give me the best feeling about it either. I know Tanner is sending a message by firing Kingston that our baseball program has expectations and mediocrity is unacceptable (which I agree with) but how many more unsuccessful hires is he allowed to continue to make? If Beamer eventually gets let go too, does Tanner get yet another chance to butcher that program some more? It's getting ridiculous.
PLEASE STOP POSTING . YOU are igorant

Dawn being Dawn at ESPYs

Gavin's CA dystopia is the gift that keeps on giving.

For anyone who hasn't visited/lived in the SF area, Union Square was always one of the safest.

It's basically like the 5th Ave area of NYC with prime shopping, etc.

Now they have boarded up storefronts everywhere and NFL players being shot in the middle of the day.

It was also reported this week that California has lost billions just this year in tax revenue from people fleeing.

What a multi-year disaster to what was otherwise a beautiful state.

Gonna Be a Long Season

You and I both know Wells didn't take some big pay cut to pay for Ole Miss. It probably was the opposite.

If it was close to similar, then yes -- going to play for a publicized high paid team with the potential to win it all makes total sense in terms of both environment and NFL status.
I would not be surprised to see Kiffin at Florida next season. Their fans want him BAD.

Dear Sir,

I LOVE CAROLINA! We are a JOKE on the football field! We require a change

:D Well, we have to do better. When considering the quality of the opponent, I don't recall ever seeing a more pitiful opening game for us. The team had no "life" in them. What's our S&C Coordinator doing? What's our OL coach doing? Urban Meyer says those 2 positions are the most important on a team.

He also threw the ball several feet over a leaping 6'5" Nyck Harbor's extended arms. Harbor took a hard hit and came up limping. Sellers had a panic look in the pocket. He was searching to escape the pocket instead of going through his progressions. He might be good at running the option. He looked so out of place in the pocket.
I still think Sellers has potential. I just hope that Loggains can bring it out of him.
