SEC Tournament champions 2022

South Carolina women's soccer team captured their third SEC Tournament championship by beating third rank Alabama 1-0. Behm scores the lone goal in the 57th minute mark with a shot from inside the upper left six-yard box and angles the ball into the right corner of the goal. In the first half, Behm also had a great through ball that she was able to break away, but Behm waited too long to take the shot. Harris taken a free kick on the edge of the 18 yard box and had a decent supersonic line drive shot stopped by the goalie at the 74:36 minute mark. Late in the match Barry came close putting the game away with a header, but the ball hit the top frame of the goal. The Hen came up with a key save at the 88:46 mark to seal the game.

The bad news is Centerback Gracie Falla was carried off the field early in the second half.

NCAA Tournament seedings will be announced tomorrow

  • Poll
Poll: Last three games.

What needs to happen the next three games for you to be satisfied?

  • 3-0, as either win them all for 9 wins on the season or the season sucks.

  • 2-1 would be a satisfying outcome

  • 1-2 as these are three good teams and even one upset would be nice

  • 1-2, but only if the win is Clemson (I hate Clemson)

  • 0-3 is fine as long as none are blowout losses, as we have 6 wins and are bowl bound

  • 1-2 as long as the win is either Tennessee or Clemson, as that would be upsets of teams I hate.

  • I don't care what happens the next three games, as I never expected six wins anyway.

  • Is it possible to have a tie in college football, if so let's tie a game

  • It would be fun to have all the final scores be prime numbers like 23 to 17 or 29 to 13

  • let's just forfeit and be done with it

Now SC's last three games are tough ones and the pessimists will all assume all are losses. So would you be happy with 1-2? 2-1? 1-2 if it is Clemson that you win?

Mizzou is better than Aggies...

I knew we were toast after Lloyd took that hit in the 1st quarter. We have no one behind him that's close right now. Lloyd is good enough to overcome OL. Juju went in and it was an automatic blitz to wherever he went because if it was a pass then Juju can't block so that is an automatic sack.

Rattler is immature. Doesn't play consistently smart. Just watching him tuck it and run gives me a heart attack. His overthrows are killing us. I keep waiting for him to settle down but it just doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm all for giving Doty a try at this point.

Satterfield will be the downfall of Beamer

Believe what you want. It's sad to believe with the talent the Gamecocks have that Vanderbilt should even have a chance. Unfortunately our lack luster offensive performances will continue to baffle Gamecock nation.

I do not have a good feeling about this game nor did I about the last one.

I hope I'm wrong, but I believe we are going to lose a close one. The team is unraveling. Beamer optimism only goes so far. You can see Spencer's, Bell, Vann, and others frustration surfacing. Faith is fleeting. Winning cures all. Unfortunately once again for Gamecock nation, wait until next year.

The Hen had two key saves in the Penalty Shoot-Out (PSO) that advances South Carolina to SEC Championship match.

South Carolina women's soccer goalie Heather Hinz had two crucial saves in the PSO and Dixon sealed the game making her shot to give South Carolina a 4-1 win over Georgia in the PSO. South Carolina will take on Alabama this Sunday for the title. In both tournament games South Carolina has played in they have given up a penalty shot due to handball inside the 18 yard box. Hopefully they do not give Alabama such a gift this Sunday.

Auburn Did Its Football Coaching Hire Right

They went out and hired a coach with head coaching experience. A Head Football Coach who won 4 conference championships in 8 years, plus 3 division championships in 3 of the other 4 seasons. The hiring authorities at Auburn did not care whether the new coach had recruiting ties in that part of the country. They went out and hired a young, successful coach who will establish recruiting ties. He is 44 years of age. Saban is 69 and has a lot fewer years ahead of him than behind. Kudos to Auburn.

2024 LB Jadan Baugh Pushes Back Commitment

We weren't tracking this too closely because I felt like Tennessee was going to be the option for Baugh if he had followed through with his commitment announcement today. With him pushing it back a bit, perhaps South Carolina can continue to battle here.
