OT: Power Ball over $1 Billion for next drawing.

Heard that over my morning coffee. I immediately got up, threw the dog in the car and headed out to buy tickets.

Now, I know I'm not going to win and I'm sure there are many out there who would suggest that I just take the money I was going to spend on tickers and toss it out the car window.

But, ya know, I had a smile on my face all the way to and from the store. Cracked a few jokes with a couple of other folks, also in line to purchase tickets. Good way to start the day.

The smile I had this morning was certainly worth the 10 bucks I laid down.

OT: I believe it's becoming obvious as to how the NFL is addressing 'Targeting'

Don't Call It. Call 'Unnecessary Roughness' instead. Except for the expulsion aspect, it's the same 15 yard penalty and it's not reviewable. Plus, at least the perpatrator gets busted even if it's not targeting. I've seen 3 hits today, so far, and one was very obvious and even had the talking heads commenting.

It won't be long before college ball follows suit. In fact, I heard (wasn't paying attention, so I didn't see them) it a couple of times yesterday and immediately thought: Odd, when's the last time I heard an unnecessary roughness call?

Crossbar Challenge Story

Hey y'all, happy Friday and happy homecoming weekend. I've got a fun one here. I talked to some of the backup QBs (and another player who isn't a QB) about the weekly crossbar challenge they do and how it started.

Can an SEC Eastern Division title by achieved by South Carolina tonight?

I might be wrong, but I think the South Carolina women's soccer team can claim the eastern division tonight. If South Carolina beats Missouri this evening and the Tennessee and Vanderbilt match end up in a tie, then South Carolina should be the division champion. Also, I think South Carolina (South Carolina must beat Missouri tonight) could win the division if Tennessee beats Vanderbilt due to the tie breaker going to South Carolina as a result of South Carolina beating Tennessee.

Current standings
1. Vanderbilt 13 points
2. Tennessee 12 points
3. South Carolina 12 points
