Gamecocks hanging on to Top 25 Ranking

Top 4 are SEC Teams- I think Kentucky is a little overrated- still good but I think there are 8-10 teams better.
5 is Clemson- I also think they are overrated at 5- also good i bet there are 10-12 teams better
7 SEC teams ahead of Carolina- 8 total ranked
7 teams in the Carolinas ahead of SC- 8 total ranked.

Gamecocks have #4 UK at home, #20 UGA at home, and at #3 Tennessee. 14 games remain and 9 are against Top 20 foes. Carolina is ranked 14th in the RPI, which the committee has used heavily in years past.

Hosting is still possible but it becomes probable if Carolina can win 16 SEC games and 5 SEC series. Right now they are 2-4 in SEC series. A series win over RPI #3 UK would do wonders for the resume.

It was another great visit for Ryan Montgomery to South Carolina. Think the Gamecocks are in good position here.

Baseball vs. Arkansas Doubleheader Live Thread

Huge day at Founders Park today as the Gamecocks try to bounce back from last night's 2-1 loss. Doubleheader to close the series against No. 2 Arkansas, with game one starting at 1 p.m. and game two an hour after that. Both games will be nine-inning contests. I'll take you through game one, and Caleb will pick it up for game two as I head over to Williams-Brice Stadium for the spring football game.

Here is how South Carolina will line up in game one. Will Tippett is out after getting hit on the head by a pitch last night, I asssume in concussion protocol. Lee Ellis takes his spot at shortstop.

Austin Brinling - CF
Cole Messina - C
Ethan Petry - RF
Parker Noland - 2B
Kennedy Jones - LF
Dalton Reeves - DH
Talmadge LeCroy - 3B
Gavin Casas - 1B
Lee Ellis - SS

Eli Jones - Pitcher

OT: Looking for a Good Divorce Attorney

I am looking to retire in a year or so and have a QDRO in place (ex gets 40%...ugh) with the State Retirement System. I'm also paying child support until my son turns 18 in about 3 years.

I'm not satisfied with my current attorney who handled my divorce back in 2015 because I believe he's somewhat passive and has, IMO, missed on some things (e.g., never advised me to seek first right of refusal when my divorce went through Mediation, he did not specify a beginning date for the QDRO to apply, etc.). And now, I'm not so sure that he could successfully argue a post-divorce modification for a reduction in child support if I retired. Should I stick with him since things are winding up or count my losses and move on with someone else who could better represent my interests?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

A lot to unpack from that one. Kingston on his ejection and a Roman Kimball update, Ty Good on his outing, Cole Messina on what made Hagen Smith so tough and more:

Baseball vs. Arkansas Live Thread (Game One)

Hello from Founders Park, where it feels like I haven't been in years but in reality it's been like three weeks and change. Either way I'm back, and so is South Carolina baseball for a huge series against No. 2 Arkansas.

One game tonight, then a doubleheader tomorrow to try to beat the rain here on Sunday. Razorbacks come in here 32-5 and 12-3 in SEC play. It'll be an enormous challenge for South Carolina, but here's how Mark Kingston lines his team up for game one:

Cole Messina - C
Parker Noland - 2B
Ethan Petry - RF
Dalton Reeves - DH
Kennedy Jones - LF
Gavin Casas - 1B
Talmadge LeCroy - 3B
Austin Brinling - CF
Will Tippett - SS

Roman Kimball - Pitcher

More info on Ryan Montgomery

All indications today point to him picking Georgia, which is a bit surprising because UGA is definitely still pursuing USC commit Julian Lewis who is the #1 overall player in the 2025 class.

I think South Carolina clearly made him their priority throughout the process, but the allure of Georgia and the uncertainty around whether they’d ultimately flip Lewis, pushed Montgomery to try his hand with the Bulldogs.

It’ll be interesting what will happen should UGA ultimately complete the flip on Lewis, and I’m sure South Carolina will try to keep the bridge open just in case, but they’ll also likely pursue other options, which I’ll break down in this week’s recruiting wrap up either later today or early tomorrow.
