Baseball Regional Day Three Live Thread

RALEIGH, N.C. — Do the Gamecocks have a miracle in them? They're going to have to win three times in two days, twice today, to keep the season alive after dropping into the loser's bracket with a 6-4 defeat against NC State.

Will monitor Ethan Petry's status in warm-ups, too, after he missed last night's game with a hairline fracture and Kingston said they would re-evaluate in the morning. Dylan Eskew will start on the mound.

First step is beating James Madison in a noon first pitch on ESPNU. Live updates to follow.

Baseball vs. NC State Live Thread

RALEIGH, N.C. — Back at Dail Park for the key game of the Raleigh Regional. Y'all already know the numbers, but they're worth repeating. The winner of the Saturday night game in a regional ends up winning the weekend over 80% of the time. This one right here is the difference between needing to win one game in two chances, or needing to win three in two days.

Gamecocks will send Garrett Gainey to the mound against Dominic Fritton, who did not pitch in the Columbia Regional last year against the Gamecocks. Here's how the rest of the lineup looks for the 6 p.m. first pitch.

Lineups are very late today, at least half an hour later than usual and more than an hour later than yesterday. We'll see what that means changes wise. I'm told Ethan Petry didn't take BP after getting hit on the wrist with a pitch yesterday, but that doesn't mean he's out, obviously. We'll see.

SC Gamecocks Football vs. Ole Miss.

I know it is early to be looking but I need 2 tickets for this game.
It would be better if they were on the visitor's side of the field. My Pastor was born and raised in Mississippi. He is a huge Ole Miss fan. I took him with me to CLA for the men's basketball game. I loved it when we pulled out that win. Now he is asking if I can get him and his wife tickets to the football game. I would love it if we won that game too.
He may decide that since he lives here now, he needs to change his allegiance. He can still support them, but he needs to learn to support the Gamecocks too.
I will keep getting him tickets as long as we keep winning.

Absolute choke job

Can't hold an 8 run lead. Kingston makes too much money for his players to not understand basic baseball fundamentals. We're playing guys in the best baseball conference in the country who couldn't field balls for a church league team. Recruiting and player development have taken a HUGE step down in our program. That's what happens when you hire average coaches that haven't gotten us to Omaha in 12 years. LSU came from behind to win twice against us because they expect to win. Winning mentality starts up top-something our coaches lack.
