Why has Braden Davis dropped so far on Rivals?

I've been out of commission bc of a surgery I had, along with the recovery time. I kept hearing about this recruiting spree we were going on and decided to check it out, now that I was feeling better. But notice BD had dropped to a 3* , which usually happens (he'd jumped to a 5, had he gone to Clem). But he's 12 spots under the nearest 4* (when looking at just the QB rankings.) That seems like a very big drop to me. What could've warranted a drop like that? Did I miss something while I was out? I looked back but couldn't seem to find anything. Any help would be much appreciated. Go Roosters

Inside the Commitment: Emory Floyd

Powder Spring (Ga.) Hillgrove class of 2022 four-star safety Emory Floyd went public with his commitment to South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. The #WelcomeHome that Beamer put out on Wednesday afternoon was the one that corresponded with Floyd's commitment to the staff.

Floyd's other finalists were Georgia and Florida. Auburn was a long-time leader here as well and in the mix, but South Carolina was recruiting him harder than the Tigers and the efforts of Torrian Gray paid off here.

While the official visit last weekend went well and certainly he likes a lot of things about the program, the relationship with Gray and the belief that Gray can develop him as a player along with the love he felt from the staff were the biggest factors in him ultimately choosing South Carolina.

A track standout as well, the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has length and speed that can't be taught. Floyd has only played one year of varsity football, but comes with a tremendous upside when you combine that size with the fact that he runs the 100 meter in 10.51 seconds (that's a verified high school track time - Floyd's self-reported PR ever is 10.48) and the 200 in 21.18 seconds. The size and speed is certainly there and I think he has a frame to add more weight once he gets in South Carolina's strength and nutrition programs.

Where will Floyd play in Columbia? He's listed as a safety but he's slated to start his career at cornerback, the position he prefers to play. As I said, he's a high upside kid and the type of athlete that you want to get into your program and develop and see where he lands. In other words, he's a cornerback and adds size to that position, but certainly has the skillset to transition to safety if that ends up being his best spot.

For what it's worth, Rivals was impressed with him and his coverage ability at the Atlanta Rivals Camp. Here's an excerpt from Sam Spiegelman:

Emory Floyd had a case as the top performer among defensive backs. The speedster can cover like a corner and was consistently brilliant throughout the afternoon. He can turn and run with ease, play trail and has long arms to rip passes away. Floyd won against the best receivers out there and his athleticism was glaring.

I know many will ask if South Carolina is done at defensive back at this time, but I expect the staff will continue to recruit the position. I don't think that's a position you can turn down a great player at right now and they are in on some really good ones. Plus the fact that Nick Emmanwori counts more as a hybrid linebacker/nickel for the numbers means there may be room for another if it's a player of the right talent level and we are continuing to track those guys.

On NIL (My Opinion)

Look out for the smaller deals throughout the day. Yoke is signing 5000 college athletes. It’s a platform where people can pay a little bit of money to play Madden or other online games against celebrities, players, etc. Those 5000 kids won’t make a ton of money but it gives them an opportunity to cash in a bit.

The 6-figure deals will make headlines, but if you want an idea of why NIL can be a really good thing, look for the deals involving small school athletes and local businesses.

My father fought in WW2, lied about how old he was so he could fight for freedom-he was 16! He always said i fought for the right of free speech but when you bitch so much about our country being so bad, its time for you to find another country that can make you happy! My father was a amazing man and i miss him so much every day. Everyone have a safe and great 4th

Braves 🆚 Marlins 7/03/21 game two crew

Welcome to another edition of Gamecock Central Braves Baseball ⚾️ chat 💬. I am your host @Pfunk Cock along with a plethora of regular participants in the chat. Great pitching and defense carried the day as the staff and bullpen pitched a shutout. The Braves only run came on a HBP a single and a sacrifice fly. That’s all they got and that is all it took to win. 😎

Early game and a tired host but we will somehow manage. After the success I stayed up late playing the bass well into the wee hours and somehow thought I was good to function 🤔🤔. Age has a way of re-educating is mere mortals and that includes this guy 😂😂😂😂.
The Braves will throw rookie Kyle Muller the 6”7 LHP who has a record of 1-1 losing only to the great deGrom. He has looked sharp and confident and I look forward to another fine showing in his mound debut at home. The Marlins will counter with an exceptional pitcher Alcantra. He is a thought righty with high velocity and Ade stuff.
Game has started so the starting lineup

Y’all are gonna get after me again but I just don’t see how we catch the competition

Going after guys with no other power 5 offers. I get it I don’t have to be told that there’s always diamonds in the rough. But in this day and age everybody seems to know more and more about everybody I would assume less and less slip through the cracks. I don’t wanna throw any shade on the kid that we just got today but on paper it sure looks like another one that is just an easy kid to get to commit. We have unbelievable facilities and sooo much to sell. if I’ve got letters in the mail from Charlotte Richmond and South Carolina then my choice is easily made. With that said there are still some nice players in this class and I’m keeping faith that as this staff gets a foothold in their recruiting base and has more time to build relationships then more difference makers are added top to bottom.
