    How recruiting works in 2021?

I have often thought that would be the world’s worst job, to have to constantly call kids you’re recruiting. Recruits speak of how often multiple coaches from a school have been in contact with them. I can’t imagine worst than having to do it. Good thing I am far, far from the danger of ever having to.

Who was your celebrity crush back in the day?

Don Johnson and Mark Harmon. I’d still take either one.

I just got two free avocados by mistake in my grocery order. I've never had avocado like some of you rich people. What...

Wait until the avocado gives a little when pressed. Rock hard avocados are no use to anybody. Peel, scoop the seed, slice. Squeeze lemon juice on it. Salt and pepper. Eat. Or chunk it up in a salad. If you have a good orange handy, orange and avocado marry well together (odd, I know, but there...

OT- Augusta Natl- volunteering at the Masters

I saw Pebble a couple of times and was underwhelmed, too. Just too different and unkempt compared to SC courses, to my eyes.

Just in case you thought there had to be some kind of end to stupidity - part 2

She says she is NOT suing Gorilla Glue. The rumor was generated By the tabloids. she knows she did something really stupid. She waited a week before seeking help, by which time the glue had fully cured. A plastic surgeon in California volunteered to help her.

    ESPN Tatervision

Trevor Lawrence has been a star since he was young. Along with his physical gifts, drive, and work ethic, he is mature, poised, and schooled in media relations. He avoids controversy and consistently promotes the team over his personal contributions. He is careful about what he says, and seems...

    Light snow in Greer .**

You can’t know how much I wish I could ship our foot+ snow here in Chicago to you. Know what the biggest headache is? In a densely populated urban environment, there’s nowhere to put it. We have garages and parking pads for three 3-flats on an alley that is currently impassable. My car is free...

Well, we crapped in the dough tray when we let Jake get away. But, what the heck, we're use to doing

Apparently a tray or pan in which bread dough rests/rises. Modern versions are plastic or metal, but perhaps you’ve seen reproductions of the old timey wooden troughs, popular in home decor to display candles and the like. Freddie B Cocky: I‘ve known many hunters in my life, but I had never...

Well, we crapped in the dough tray when we let Jake get away. But, what the heck, we're use to doing

Dont be testy. I had no idea what “doe tray” meant, since I have never heard the term “dough tray.” Was trying to figure that out. Thanks for supplying the correct spelling. Off to look up what a “dough tray” is.

    Alex freaking Smith

Thanks for posting that. I never heard of him and don’t know the story, but the photo says everything. Powerful photo. He is spent, but he looks like he’s digging deep within to find the power to rise one more time.

Dabo's comments on the hiring of Shane Beamer

Doubt Dabo hates anybody. He did address Muschamp’s firing: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/college/article247229199.html

    Does tanner have a buyout?

Oh yes. When he extended Muschamp’s contract, he got a fat pay raise and buyout for himself.

So if we hire Beamer with Chadwell in our backyard

    Upvoted for “calumny.” Excellent!

Old sayings you heard while growing up

Buggy (shopping cart), reckon, and yonder. I still use all three, and it drives my Chicago friend crazy. A “buggy“ to him is a baby conveyance, ”reckon“ isn’t in his vocabulary, and he mutters ”it’s over yonder, she says, where the hell is yonder?” I’ll try “Co-Cola” on him soon.

Old sayings you heard while growing up

Something bad the matter. “When you didn’t show up, I was worried something was bad the matter.“ Speaking of lazy men, my grandfather would say, “He wouldn’t work in a pie factory” [meaning, if the job was eating pies].

You know you are getting old if you can remember (fill in the blank).

How about Beach Blanket Bingo? Followed by How to Stuff a Wild Bikini? My dad took us to the drive in over in Barnwell to see both, if I recall. Why, I can’t imagine. My mother was away for a couple of days, so he and a friend took us kids. Bikinis were first introduced in 1946....but I...

No pools in your neighborhood? The kids near us are in the pool all day every day, shrieking their heads off.

    OT: Mattresses

A split bed, maybe? Two narrower mattresses together on the same frame. Also, a king bed is more comfortable in this situation.

    Travel Plans after COVID?

Also...an easy drive through the mountains to Glenwood Springs, with a stop to hike up to Hanging Lake is another great family trip. Afterwards, continue on to Glenwood Springs and enjoy the pool fed by hot springs. My boys liked that, too. Colorado Springs has numerous activities for families...

    Travel Plans after COVID?

if you go to Winter park and have kids, check to see if the giant slide down the mountain is still operating. If so, plan a half day for the kids (and you) to ride. It’s great fun.
