We have four perfect coaches for this school!!! Stop the complaining

A fair number of posts in this thread bragging about how great our coaches are. Our hardware case doesn’t support the argument.

We get good, fade...then they get good and sustain...

We haven't sustained in any sport other than WBB. Do we have the right to speak about any other program? Is it justified to claim Tanner and Martin are doing their job at an acceptable level?

Coach Frank named as UCONN candidate

I recall when the baseball fans on this Board cheered Holbrooke's recruiting.

Coach Frank named as UCONN candidate

I am unaware of any rule that mandates all fans must be enamored with Martin. I also believe that you can support Martin as our coach, but still prefer someone else, and that this doesn't make you less of a fan.

Of the 1,000 - 8,000 per game across the country, some 60% - 70% are the same people. But keep believing college baseball is immensely popular. When average baseball coaches are paid millions per year, and millions across the country tune in to watch Thursday night college baseball, I’ll pay...

I wouldn’t say way less, but definitely declining. In part, it’s due to HDTV and the fact that every game is broadcast. But let me put it this way. College baseball is probably more popular now than ever. Yet, on average a typical game draws a few thousand or less across the country.

There’s a reason why college baseball stadiums are so much smaller. I think some of you guys just like to argue.

This isn't this even debatable. It's a per game average. Only 7,400 people attend our baseball games on average. I'm not sure I follow the difficulty in comprehending the fact that college baseball is less popular and generates less money than football and basketball. Even our WBB draws more...

Welp, now that the season is over I guess I can talk about old Final Four Frank. Yep, just...

Not quite a fair comparison. Back then, far fewer teams went to the tourney. We were in the ACC. Only the ACC tournament champion was invited. One year, we went undefeated in the ACC during the season and made it to the championship game (in Greensboro as usual) and lost to NC State in double...

I hope you’re right. Everybody does. But just curious. Were you equally confident this far into the tenures of Brad, Horn and the last baseball coach?

I think the winning season argument is misleading. In 6 years he went to the dance only 1 time. He's had a winning season in the SEC only twice. Creating a winning record due to wins over Wofford and Western Michigan (2x) is not compelling.

I'm not knocking SC or its baseball program. I'm merely stating it's not that popular of a sport when compared to others.

Last year, SC baseball averaged 7,437 per game. MBB averaged 12,618 per game. WBB averaged 12,277 per game last year (can't find this year's stats). CFB averaged 78,586 per game this past season. My point is we're number 5 in the country, averaging only 7,437 per game. College baseball is just...

I wouldn't have been as harsh as your post, but I definitely prefer Marshall over Martin.

Don't mean to hurt your feelings, but they are. There's a reason why college baseball offers only partial scholarships. There's a reason college baseball stadiums are small when compared to football stadiums and basketball arenas. There's a reason college baseball coaches are paid peanuts when...

Basketball Lineup is a Mystery to Me

Blocked shots and poor passing too. I've never seen the number of blocked shots suffered by our bigs or the number of times we turned the ball over due to extremely poor passing. This is Frank's 6th season. You'd think he'd either have a more fully developed offense by now, or like in football...
