    Realignment Killed the Conferences

UT has played Alabama more often (101 times) than Auburn has (82 times).

A couple of questions about the fake fair catch on the punt return UNT vs Ark.

The new fair catch rule is for kickoffs. FSU faked the fair catch signal a few times, player would raise his hand partially then take off. I think there was a rule change specifically to address that.

This is just a guess on my part but I think the honeymoon is over

He inherited a toxic locker room at FSU and it shows. He hasn’t chased off players yet, like Muschamp at USC and Strong at UT when they came in, maybe because the guys who should go are just too talented.

Third year coach. Didn’t sound right, since I saw Danny coach his first year there, so had to look it up.

It doesn’t really work like that anymore. Hasn’t in a LONG time.

It was more personality with him and Spurrier vs Johnson, I believed at the time. I don't think they are cut out for the NFL, because they want to be the king. Players loved Jimmy Johnson and wanted to play for him. The only guy who gets away with the Saban personality in the NFL is...

This is just a guess on my part but I think the honeymoon is over

That was a time when nobody wanted the Alabame job. Franchione who left for A&M, Bowden turned it down twice. If Saban hadn’t failed so miserably in the NFL, they might still be stuck in that cycle.

GA Southern v Clemsux official game thread

BC and Duke are both hovering around 25 in FPI. Georgia still has Auburn, but the other teams on their schedule drag their SOS eight spots below Clemson's.

    Better high school players !?

Unrelated, but is this chart correct and there are only 83 players on scholarship at USC? http://southcarolinagamecocksfootball.com/static-pages/south-carolina-gamecocks-football-scholarship-breakdown/ The way I understand the rule, you have to award all 85 in order to use the mid-year...

    Better high school players !?

The TE is being recruited, but he's not likely to go to Clemson. The only commit we have from CA is the WR Ngata.

    Best Non-Conference Road Trip

These 100k football stadiums are eventually going away. Jamming that many people into the same space that a 75k NFL stadium uses and charging $50 or more a ticket can’t last.

    Best Non-Conference Road Trip

Easy to do. USC should focus on getting away games in NC and VA. Exposure is worth a lot, and those states have a lot of talent.

It’s way better than it used to be. Need to take a few more stoplights off 19.

    Best Non-Conference Road Trip

You mixed up the state with the school. Clemson has been playing Auburn more recently (10,11,12,16,17). During that time, Saban hasn’t been willing to play away games at decent non-conference teams, only neutral sites.

    Best Non-Conference Road Trip

It might help recruiting. SC wants non-conference games in NC and VA for the same reasons Clemson tries hard to get the non-conference games in Georgia (13-14, 24), Alabama (16-17), Mississippi (Ole Miss canceled), Louisiana (25-26), and Texas (18-19).

Coaches poll Gamecock only fall to 29..link

Florida lost a somewhat closer game to what could be a good Kentucky team and didn't get any votes - even from the 7 SEC coaches.

Congratulations ACC refs you won a close one

It’s troubling that there are so many people driving the SC highways without even the most basic understanding of visual perspective.

Congratulations ACC refs you won a close one

It’s pretty obvious. Last year we needed a better passing game to beat Alabama. Kelly is still good enough to get by everybody else, but we need Trevor to get experience in tough games and be ready for a shootout.

Are ACC refs calling the CU/TAM game? That was an incredibly bad call on the fumble.

The pylon is the edge of the line. I believe the whole ball has to be over the line to be out, but can't find the rule. I found this though, and if it's correct, the ball had to be completely to the left of the pylon to not be a touchback. The pylon camera made it look like the ball was...
