    I teach a media writing class at LSU, and the announcer, Mario Jerez, was in my class in 2014. Good guy, good announcer. (He's bilingual; no, I don't teach in Spanish.) LSU fans love the highlight videos with him announcing.

    In that respect, this hire is an improvement over the previous one, since Muschamp had shown the opposite. I would have preferred Napier or Chadwell because they've demonstrated head coaching success at a lower level, and I think that's the safer hire. It seems Beamer is being picked on...
