We clearly don't have a clue at the plate. Our hitting coaches, if that's what you want to call them, are not good at all. That on top of recruiting speed first is a piss poor plan.
Holbrook needs to understand you can't steel first base. At some point you have to put 5-6 guys in the lineup that can drive the ball, otherwise you put way too much pressure on the pitcher and the defense to be perfect.
You don't win with just speed, you have to be able to hit to win championships.

What puzzles me (I didn't play baseball, but did stay at a Holiday Inn) is that we can hit and score runs in the first couple of innings. Then the same pitcher can stay in for 7-8 innings and we can't touch him. Most of the time, a team doesn't hit very well for an inning or two and then begins to see the pitches and begins to hit the pitcher.
