I have to ask, does the team which scored the touchdown still have to kick off to the other team or does the team that suffered the safety have to perform a free kick back to the team that just scored against them?
The most shocking part of this video... Ron Cherry made the right call.
One of the other crew members called him over to the side. Either that, or the replay official buzzed him.
You'd know you weren't supposed to be gambling. But they you'd keep on gambling.
You kick off normally because it's an untimed play after the score. I think....lol
That seems correct to me, but shoot, I didn't even know this scenario existed before today.
It is correct. I saw another video of this happening in a Texas-Texas A&M game. Texas scored the touchdown, A&M got the safety, but A&M received the ensuing kickoff.
Been around a long time. I had a couple as an official in high school football. Is considered as a dead ball play with the the touchdown team kicking off. I believe we also had one a few years ago in a USC game - it may have been a college game I saw on TV.
