I wonder if anyone had even thought about a one point safety being a "thing" before it actually happened the first time? Who could have envisioned such to make a rule for it - LOL!

That seems correct to me, but shoot, I didn't even know this scenario existed before today.
It is correct. I saw another video of this happening in a Texas-Texas A&M game. Texas scored the touchdown, A&M got the safety, but A&M received the ensuing kickoff.

Where did you see one?

Been around a long time. I had a couple as an official in high school football. Is considered as a dead ball play with the the touchdown team kicking off. I believe we also had one a few years ago in a USC game - it may have been a college game I saw on TV.

Remember That Time Captain Munnerlyn returned the kick against Kentucky? What was it that we were awarded for that one? 1, 2 ,3 , 6 points? I forgot?
