I noticed Miami has 18 commits already this year. That seems like a ridiculous number to be so early in the recruiting period.

It is... We started off really fast last year for the 2015 class. If Miami underwhelms on the field again this year and their coaches get hot seat rumors going, watch the recruits flee just like ours did!

A lot of these kids jump out and commit now, giving them a place to land. Later, if they like someone else better, they just de-commit and commit to someone else.
