There were four names being thrown about just yesterday in the Clemson offices as to who they were going after. This coming from athletic department employee there.
1. The coach at maryland is Radacovichs first choice by a mile
2. The darkhorse name is the head coach at Illinois. This one scares most Clemson people because they think he is flash in the pan type that is not proven.
3. of course Monte Lee is a big thought.
4. The head coach at Dallas Baptist because they want connections into the Texas area for players.
Take it for what it is worth but this is the scoop from inside the department and the guy from maryland is the main target right now.

I think Monte Lee is the pick of the litter. The coach at MD who made that program relevant would be good also. If USC was in the market for a coach I would hope for Monte Lee. Wonder why CU isn't going after O'Sullivan at UF too. He was with Jack at one time. JMO

I'm sure DRad will make a phone call to O'Sullivan but he's got it made down there making almost 500k. The only way he would come is if he has a burning desire to make Clemson into a national contender again. But I don't see it happening.

The guy who "made' Maryland is Eric Bakich and he is currently the coach at Michigan. The current coach at UMd is just living off his players.

Hearing there may be interest in Holbrook since everyone else is throwing out names.

Very good insight. Im not sure the current MD coach fits what Clemson is looking for.

These are the names I seen mentioned:

Randy Mazey (WVU), Kevin O'Sullivan (UF), Tim Corbin (VU), Jim Toman (Liberty), Monte Lee (CofC), Jim Schlossnagle (TCU), and Terry Rooney (UCF)

Aaron Fitt on the radio today gave the impression that Monte Lee is not a major contender.

Forget Corbin and O'Sullivan, that ain't happening.[/QUOTE

I agree with this, but probably for different reasons. I don't believe any of Jack's assistants would want to coach a team where their mentor was fired. Especially, when both Corbin and O'Sullivan are at premier programs already and in the SEC at that.

Yeah, I get the feeling they're not going after anybody with ties to USC, or maybe they're just not that jazzed with Monte! Personally I never cared for Jacks antics, but he was always looking out for his guys, I guess you can't fault that, but I wish they had kept him! No telling who they could pull in there and ramp up the recruiting, especially with us a little down!
