I know it's tourney time, but did anyone see the proposal the Colts are presenting to the rules committee? If a team goes for 2 and makes it, they get a shot at another point with a placekick from the 50.

There were only eight extra point misses all year. They need to change the rule on it somehow. It's nothing but a waste of time.

One guy on the article I read on it said that if they missed the 50 yard field goal then they lost a point from the 2 point conversion....I thought it was interesting.

I just want my kickoffs back!

You know, some crazies way back in the day "effed" with football and then the forward pass came into being...

The game slowly changes, I do not necessarily agree with this particular rule, but it is an attempt at changing a relatively pointless extra point paly into something more relevant.

But didn't the forward pass evolve into the game as a natural progression - and not because a rule committee just got a wild hair one year? If, for example, the extra point were made more difficult, that would be the result of an evolution in the game: in bygone eras, extra points were anything but guaranteed, but with the improvements in kicking, artificial surfaces, and the like, they are virtual "gimmes" now. But a 9 point play is a major transformation in the game and a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
