I can tell you the team is taking Kentucky very seriously. They watched film of them last night, and they're particularly aware of their offensive firepower. Tyrone Nix and his coaches will come up with a game plan that will give USC a chance to slow Kentucky, but they will move the ball at times and score some points. Therefore, USC's offense will need to be ready to do the same.

Chris Smelley's debut was not only a success in the eyes of his coaches, but also his teammates. The players feel like on the field he's truly an extension of Steve Spurrier. He's spreading the ball around and the way he played against MSU only further fueled his confidence in himself and his teammate's confidence in him.

The feeling is Kentucky's offense is the best USC has faced so far this year, so we'll find out a lot more about the Gamecock defense, especially their pass defense. Their numbers against the pass this year are gaudy, and they need to have a great game on Thursday in this regard. At the same time, Kentucky has also been very effective running the ball, so they can't ignore that aspect of their offense. Rafael Little is completely healthy this year, unlike last season, and you can bet he'll be a huge part of Kentucky's game plan. As a senior, this will be his final chance to for the S.C. native to log a win over Carolina.

This game is setup to be a great one, IMO. I'll have more as the week goes on.
