Another recruit is whining that his position coach left after signing day. This time it's a Urban Meyer recruit. Assistant coaches leave all the time, they're rarely there a total of 4 to 5 years to begin with. What happens if the coach leaves a year after he goes there? Does he deserve to leave and not have to sit out? That's life, people come and go at any job or place. You shouldn't pick a school because the assistant DB coach/ coffee refill guy is like a father to you.

Part of the game

And Spurrier didn't make any changes...for he didn't want to upset any recruits...and what good did it do us?!

Fields will learn he would have had a better position coach at Carolina. Jon Hoke is a stud and Grady may get back
on. Let's hope so because he deserves it.

When Spurrier speaks, you can believe him... He is a man of his word... He said he may add a coach or two after recruiting... No one will be fired, but some could leave for other coach jobs...

Recruits are feed bullshit all the time, and Spurrier will tell them the truth... It's their fault that they didn't trust him on his word...

That explains why coach Brown told Fields and others he understood them decommiting because he knew he was odd man out in the coaching staff.

No doubt about that Cola. Coaches like Dabdumb kissing recruits butts have developed a culture of coddling teenage boys. We need more old school coaches like Spurrier who don't kiss the a$& of a teenager who has yet to prove he can even feed himself on his own.

These kids are only 17 or 18 give them a break.

I read something about this last night. I think the fact of the problem is: the dad said all during his sons recruitment there was no mention of this coach leaving, or that it was a possibility. And, surely Urban, and the coach, knew at some point and time that it was possible, and it was never mentioned. Then, the day after signing day...he's gone. I think they feel they weren't given all the facts, which it appears they weren't.

#19 ranked class?? Pretty even with Oregon and Stanford and above teams like Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, TCU, Baylor, Nebraska, Missouri, WV, VaTech, Florida, Arkansas, and tons of others. I wonder if their fans are whiny girls?

Yes, but the reality of the day is that 'coddling' WORKS in the world of college football recruiting. These 18-19 year old kids are leaving home for the first time, often hundred of miles from home and into a completely different football environment than they experienced in high school - where often they were on close terms with their head coach (enter smoochie Dabo who showers them with praise and 'love').

Bottom line: this is not the 1960's. Recruiting requires hard work, diligence, focus, almost constant communication, a soothing tongue with hugs (if necessary). Ya'll see any of those qualities in SOS?

Btw, Spurrier had a VERY close father-son-like relationship with his HC at UF - Ray Graves. It's not as if he (SOS) doesn't know what 'warm and fuzzy' or 'coddling' is all about.
