Looks like we'll lose at minimum 3 high school kids (2 pitchers and the shortstop mentioned above) and possibly a 4th kid who also is a pitcher. Hard hit this year by draft as majority of highly ranked signees were drafted in first 12 rounds which usually means they're gone.

Is the three-year college commitment thing an NCAA or MLB contrivance? If it's the latter it's ruthless but understandable. No other major sport imposes such an either-or condition on highly talented athletes. It hurts college baseball for the benefit of farm systems, and I think it's shortsighted.

We will explore juco and do as well as we usually do with a coaching change. A year or two of Kingston pressing the flesh in our region well will determine our furture recruiting endeavors.
