That dabo was at the draft? Knew he would get some face time. Surprised he didnt head up on stage and hold the jersey with vb. i dont recall seeing any other college coaches there.
Yeah, it's always a good idea for a coach to show up an draw attention to himself rather than his players. Not really surprised, but was very surprised SOS didn't go with Clowney...would have looked pretty good for his head coach to show support for his #1 overall pick.

The player asked him to come.
How does what Beasley and Anthony supposedly "want" explain anything about Spurrier? Dabo and Spurrier are polar opposites. Spurrier is a Heisman winning, former NFL QB that is considered to be among the greatest CFB coaches of all-time. As such, he is very secure and quite often ducks the limelight. A prime example being the fact that he seldom attends the Heisman ceremony in NYC. Dabo, a former walk-on, chases the camera at every opportunity. Plain and simple, last night was a recruiting opportunity for Dabo.Shhhhh... Because Beasley and Anthony wanted him there explains why Spurrier was not there with DooDoo. I thought it was cool that they invited him. Big night.
Caldwell is a prety dang good O line coach. Spurrier wanted him.Venables is good. Who else?
They're very different, Dumbo and Spurrier. That's for sure. But Spurrier has been to Omaha and to the WBB semis. Going to the draft and supporting Clowney(#1 pick), would not have been seen as a case of Spurrier trying to steal the spotlight. It would have looked good, IMO. But as you stated, it could also be seen as an opportunity to recruit. I think Dumbo is the biggest phony in the game, but his actions make him look like he really cares about his players. Impressionable youth will buy into that. How does what Beasley and Anthony supposedly "want" explain anything about Spurrier? Dabo and Spurrier are polar opposites.
