Yea....maybe he needed a fresh start.I mean, he committed to us so I'm sorry it didn't work out.
Wonder if he just couldn't get past the stigma of his boneheaded play? Unfortunately that's really the only lasting memory he made here.
It’s hard to believe that was the same season. Seems like an eternity ago.Yea....maybe he needed a fresh start.

Yep agree 100%. The kid made a mistake, and it played out on the big stage in front of everybody. He's human, he's a kid. You can't truly understand how hurtful some comments are unless your kid (or yourself) has been is the same situation. I guarantee that not one of Brown's teammates holds it against him. Why do we as fans (and supposed adults) hold it against him? Outside of that mistake (for sure it was a big one), he came in off the bench and played a damn good game against Troy. This is why message boards suck. comments Like this directed at a 19yr old.
How about not use message boards to hide behind a screen and bad mouth a kid that wanted to come here and succeed but it didnt work out. Im sorry but I didnt know message boards were reserved only for jerks who feel ok to say what the original poster said. Classless and its a shame that person represents our fan base with classless comments like that.Well then, stay off message boards....
He did look good. I agree. I have no doubt that wherever he goes, he will make them betterUnlike Rico, I thought he definitely had an upside. I thought he looked good. Dropping the ball at the goal line was not the 1st time I've seen a player do that. And no one will do that twice.
i remember a big time DB from UGA doing that on the first or second play of the game against us. Jake threw the int and the guy dropped it on the 1 yd line. Gotta give Jake credit, he was barely beaten out by an UGA DL or LB to recover it.Unlike Rico, I thought he definitely had an upside. I thought he looked good. Dropping the ball at the goal line was not the 1st time I've seen a player do that. And no one will do that twice.
I'm pretty sure it's a violation to poach players that aren't in the portal-if you get caught. They can obviously shop around though. The biggest problem I see with the future of the portal is financial in nature. You recruit someone out of HS (flies under the radar) that plays really well for your team as a freshman. He then gets poached from your team by being offered more money (NIL) to bolt to another program. With no need to wait a year to start playing, I think this is going to create many more problems for programs that are trying to create a new culture of winning. As for anyone leaving to join another program for a fresh start, I am all for it. It's like any job...sometimes it just doesn't work out and finding employment elsewhere is best for all concerned.

Yeah, but how often do you heckle your own players? The kid made a bone-head play. It was just one play, though. When you do dumb things, you get heckled... If the college baseball players can take being heckled, then football players who dumb thing on the field can take it too...
When you're a loser like some of our fans appear to be you do it all the time.Yeah, but how often do you heckle your own players?
Agree and I believe he will be missed. The kid appeared to have a lot of raw talent and just needed to be coach 👍!!!Yeah, he made a lot of plays when he was in, but one dumb mistake at 19 and people think he had nothing to offer us, never mind the walk-on that didn't earn a scholarship until last year and is All-SEC in this his final season.
Absolutely! Glad he was a Gamecock and hope he excels beyond all imagination! Except or course, if he is playing against us.Just wish the kid well and let it go...
