Not to talk about Trump but to be fair, the man consistently insults everyone that doesn't kiss up to him. He's got a long list of former associates and friends he's stepped on. Even those close to him have said he really doesn't have close friends anymore. People that are close to him are close for how it can help them. That's not really news to anyone.
Regardless, name-calling and personal insults are rampant. They sure aren't helpful and reflect poorly on the person tossing them out more so than I think most people believe.
Recently at the company I work for, someone sent out an email to the entire company insulting the President. I was stunned and so were most people. As someone who voted for the President, I wasn't mad at the guy. I actually like him. It was out of character for him. He got in trouble for it and rightfully so. Thankfully, it was just a slap on the wrist. But I actually called him and told him that I hoped he was ok and to just put it behind him and move on. He knows where I stand but I realize he just made a mistake. It wasn't like him so I assume something else was going on. He seems to be fine now.
As we know, name-calling and insults never convince anyone to agree with you. Whether it's COVID, sports, politics, or personal relationships.
The fact is people live their lives differently. I know every Conservative people that are very successful, happy, and have done well, and I know very Liberal people that are very successful, happy, and have done well.
I also know some people that are thrilled to be in the middle somewhere and categorically reject partisan politics and ideological stances on every issue.
