Arch Manning

Figure he is looking to make his own mark. At UGA or Bama he would just another in a line of great QBs. Texas has been down. If he is the QB, and they get back to the top echelon, he will be a hero for life down there.

I'd imagine his money package to go to Texas was mighty helpful in making this decision. Should be interesting to watch.

Actually with several mega multi-millionaires in his family, he is one of the few recruits not moved by NIL money.

I think it’s more recruits than you think that are not motivated by money
Hard to say. If you imply solely motivated by money, then certainly that is not usually the sole motivation. But for anyone not from a multi-millionaire's family, the money has to be considered along with items like location, school reputation, personal relationship with the coaches, playing time looking at depth charts, etc. I think it is one factor among others for most recruits.

Key words his family. When someone else is still holding the keys to the kingdom it can suck. Nil money would be his.

Yep, family money that I have to get approval for is a lot different than a ton of cash that I can do whatever the hell I want to with and get permission from nobody.

Plus, even rich families don't like to leave money on the table.

What does everyone mean by family money? There isn't a boat load of money the kid is trying to get from his parents. Kids from affluent families normally just don't have to worry about anything. They have cars, clothes, gadgets and walking around money. Someone like him that is driven to succeed expects the money will follow. What is he going to do with 1MM right now other than get distracted and mess himself up mentally?

No way he's motivated in any unusual way because of money.

The family is loaded beyond their dreams.
Just because my family is rich doesn’t mean I’m not broke at 17. Ya gotta make it on your own and if your raised right you will but you won’t as some spoiled ass brat. IE see Hollywood kids.

Yeah, it must have been the coaching stability and the 5 wins/bowl ineligibility from last year that drew him there.

And his father is worth $15 million. That's not "loaded beyond their dreams".

Yeah, but two different uncles that he is close to are worth 100s of millions of dollars each. That is loaded.

When your family are multi-millionaires, it means you never worry about your mom being able to pay the grocery bill or light bill. In fact, it means you never worry about money for needs.

My kids have never worried about money. They've never sat up at night wondering if I was going to be able to pay the mortgage or pay the insurance.

My son turned down a larger scholarship at one school to go to another school. He's not an athlete but there are many kids that have to go where it's cheaper.

Arch Manning might be motivated by money, but I doubt it. I'd venture to say he's motivated by other things than money.

15 million is loaded under any definition. HIs grandfather's net worth is estimated at $10 million. I am sure he's got some of that coming to him too one day if he so desires.

Cooper is one of the Manning's that recently signed with Caesar Sportsbook. Reportedly, Arch Manning will be included once he's in college- any college. The deal for the entire Manning clan has not been released but is reportedly in the millions.

There are also some reports that the Manning clan wants to be owners of an NFL team in the next 10 years.

It's amusing to watch message boarders argue about how 15+ (and growing fast) Million isn't enough money. LOL.

Maybe he just liked Texas better. Maybe he liked the coach better. Maybe he felt like he had a better opportunity there- or maybe he liked his recruiter better.

If Texas can't recruit a high caliber player with their resources and history, then South Carolina might as well hang it up today and shut things down.

Money that someone might inherit one day and split with other family members isn't your own money in your pocket right now.

Some people are so naive and gullible. I bet you believe too that the running back from Clemson aunt really let him carry thousands of dollars to school to throw around in the gym right after committing to Clemscum.

Texas could be the team that he has dreamed about playing for since childhood. $$$ could also be factor The guy is probably going to making lots of mullah by appearing in commercials and stuff. Being an elite athlete is almost like winning the lottery. Free college and all the perks that come with being an athlete. Then earning thousands if not millions through that image and likeness, or whatever it’s called.

The thing is nobody knows but him

I wish the young buck the best. His last name will garner him much in life. His Grandpa and uncles are NFL heroes in the eyes of many. That said, I hope he craps the bed should his team ever face the Gamecocks 🤙🏼

Everyone is moved by money. Especially those with money. Otherwise he's looking at getting whipped on by everyone in the SEC West during his career for no reason. I mean there's a chance Texas can buy a SEC quality offensive line and defensive line before they get in the conference. We shall see.

I just mean he is less moved by money than someone in poverty, living not knowing where meal money will come from next. It is ridiculous to think otherwise.

As for OL, last year was their best ever recruiting at that position and this year is looking good as well.

A kid from a multi-million dollar family doesn't require money in his pocket "right now. " If you've read about the kid at all or followed him, you'd know money does not seem to be motivating him. His motivation seems to 100% be being a great football player.

I am sure he likes the money but the kid's family is absolutely loaded. It's different when your dad is a multi-multi- multi millionaire It just is whether you like it or not.

Comparing him to some regular kid out of Clemson or anywhere else is your stupidity on display.

The Manning family isn't some random family looking for their kid to make it big so they can buy mom a house.

Correct. It's too simple for some of the goofs on here to understand.

You can see that when they are dismissing the fact he's dad is loaded.

It can't be that the kid just liked Texas after visiting there and visiting other places. It has to be some other odd, fabricated reason. It must be that they paid him the most because he is focused on the money although nothing about the kid, nothing about his situation, his family, nothing about his recruitment or his many statements would lend anyone to believe money is a big- or even a factor- for him.

These are the same goofs that invent election fraud every time one of their candidates loses. It can't be that they were a sorry candidate. It has to be some other reason.

It's probably because you are the biggest liar in the history of Gamecock forums, and also a disgusting, racist pig, that people are just prone to be contrary with you. Even a man of your limited intelligence should understand that.

LOL. The only stupidity on display is your stupidity.

Jadan Rashada just signed a deal with Miami NIL worth $9.5 million. Turned down $11 million from Florida. And that was a high 4 star QB. Nowhere near the marketability of Manning. You think he left that kind of money on the table to go to a poorly run Texas program that didn't even make a bowl last year for free? LOL. Gullible is an understatement. Moronic is more accurate.

And Daddy having a net worth $15 million doesn't mean shit when you can put $10 million of YOUR OWN MONEY in YOUR OWN POCKET right now. No asking Daddy for money. No waiting for an inheritance and splitting it with others. And Uncle money isn't anything. Completely irrelevant.

Texas is the richest program in college sports. Just a coincidence, I'm sure. LOL.

What elite recruit that everyone is courting wouldn't want to go play for a poorly run program that was worse than us last year. Didn't even make a bowl. With a coach who was fired from another major program because he was a drunkard, which he tried to claim was a disability when he sued (and lost).

What's not to like? LOL

Imagine his legacy if he is the one who leads Texas back to prominence.
His # retired & the Manning family name would go down as the greatest QB at 3 different SEC schools by 3 different generations.
Not too shabby of a family legacy.

Arch went 18-24 with 355 yards and 3 TD passes in the spring game today. Two of the TD passes were 75 yards long. Started the spring game 10 for 10. Yeah, Texas fans are excited, too excited as he won't start until 2025.

That was all by design. To keep him at UT.
