Why is this kid waiting til 10:00 tonight, is a network broadcasting it or something? and is he all LSU now or is he playing with their minds too?

From what I read he's LSU bound. Tough to lose someone we've been on for 3+ years and LSU swoops in and gets him. I think he announces at 10:00 because Lousiana is not on Eastern Time Zone.

You might be right, but 9:00 is still pretty late to announce.

Seems like he was just looking for a team/reason to go to another school. We have Blackshear, Sawyer, Whitlow, and Wideman coming in and McClain from last year so that is the good news. Any of them can be very good for us.

Key's decision, for us or LSU, isn't concerning to me. We need more like Lattimore, Shaw, Ingram, Gilmore and less of the "I need love" types; however, our purpose for holding this staff in place was to preserve this recruiting class and it seems we (fans) have been duped into believing it was worth it. Key was a major factor in holding off on changes and if he chooses LSU, we will have wasted valuable time. An 18 year old ran the show during this process and kept several coaches from getting the ax. If he picks us, for the third time, then so be it. Hopefully, we can alter the attitude once on campus. If he chooses LSU, the fans should wonder why we waited at all.

I guess he has his reason for waiting to 10:00pm, it could be many reasons, but after watching him in the All Star Game he played in i sure hope he is Gamecock Bound. Do the right thing Arden, stick to your original choice!

Not gonna wonder at all. Just gonna chalk it up to a teenager changing his mind, which they are good at doing. Think what we do have coming in can be a great help.

Well, at this point I'm just going to choose to believe he is still going to pick us....we've been his choice from early on...sometimes people flirt with the other side but when it comes time to make that big decision they go back to that first choice that they made...or um, also that first and second choice that they made :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he is waiting to announce on Fox Sports show which would air after probably a Bobcats basketball game... He took the slot that they would give him the limelight.

Arden has his bags packed already for L $ U. No sense worrying about it now. I'm like many posters on here in the mindset that we kept people in certain situations to keep their influences on certain recruits. What will happen on Thursday, the day after the ink is dried? Will the coaching staff still have the same responsibilities? Seems to me that if we are going to add another coach or two into the program, that we would want the in sooner than later since Spring practice isn't very far away.

Are you guys giving LSU, Les Miles and Keven Steele A lot of credit. LSU stunk up the joint last year worse than we did in giving away several games including the bowl game. Les Miles has given up so many boneheaded plays that cost the team win. In the last for 5-6 years I'm willing to bet that Carolina want to have a better record than LSU.

Still think he goes to Auburn. I wouldn't be surprised to see Auburn land a few surprises on the defensive side. That is what happens when you land a proven Defensive Coordinator like Muschamp. You may lose a few recruits to previous talks/promises, but you may land a few studs just as well. Bottom line, you bring in a proven leader on the defensive side who is an immediate upgrade regardless of recruits decisions.

So he decommitted because he is afraid we were going to hire Ward so he is going to go play for Muschamp?

From what I read, Muschamp will be our DC in 2015 season.

Ward is on staff, so I don't understand the "hiring Ward" part of your question. Who knows why he decommitted........twice? I am saying that Auburn has a tremendous offense, and with Muschamp, will be better on defense. They are a championship contender next year. With two 5 star Clemson commits making surprise visits to Auburn this past weekend, I wouldn't be surprised if they decommitted from Clemson.

I hope they DO decommit. It would make for a fun afternoon to witness the major meltdown on TaterNet.

Re: Trust Les Miles? . . . ha . . haha . . hahahahahahahaha . . . ***

Im getting sick of the "we don't need these look at me types" when these "look at me" types are committing to these schools that have won national titles with these "look at me types". Remember Lattimore, Ingram, Gilmore etc.... never won a national title.

Key would look like a fool to commit here for the third time. This is why I know the kid is gone. LSU is telling him he will start from day 1 and our coaches aren't gonna do that. It's a mistake for the young man to go all the way to LSU but hey you have to let each man make his own mistakes. I won't be watching his commitment tonight but I have a better shot at winning the lotto than key committing here again. We are gonna be fine at DE with what's on our board. The kid that urban Meyer is after is the one that concerns me most.

That said, I could care less about Key. He would redshirt his first year. He is the size of a string bean. There are 4 other DEs in this class that would play before him.

LSU's problem now.
laugh.r191677.gif

Seriously though, I think this may be a really good thing in the end if he doesn't come here.

Easy there TPB. Those types of character kids are my preference, not everyone has to agree. Had we continued to build upon the successes of those type players, we very well might be in the national picture right now. Instead, the coaches lapsed into a permanent vacation and here we sit trying to salvage a recruiting class which, by ranking, isn't any better than those since 2012.

oops typo, I meant fire Ward.

5* recruits do not commit at 10 pm on Monday nights.js.... Even 90 - 95% of the college fans that follow recruiting will be reading about where Key commits to "again" tomorrow morning in the news papers and even then it is not guarantee until he sends in his paper work.. I would say with his recruiting track record there would still be a good chance for another team to flip his commitment before he sends in his signed letter.. jmo

He's not a 5 star recruit. I don't even think he's a top 100 recruit, but you sure wouldn't know it with all of the drama surrounding him.

Re: Trust Les Miles? . . . ha . . haha . . hahahahahahahaha . . . ***

I think he is #85 overall recruit.

He may commit to USC or LSU tonight and then sign with the other one on Wednesday. That's what we are dealing with here.

Actually he is a Top 100 recruit. And the reason he's doing it at 10 pm tonight is because he's doing it on a recruiting show on Fox Sports.

Geez...wish some of you guys would actually get a clue in regards to what you're posting about before making posts. Too many folks post on topics they have no idea about.

I just checked the list and I didn't see him. I could have missed him though. He's definitley not #85 though. I'm sure he's good and he's got a great offer list. But just seems like a lot of drama over one guy.

And btw, Clemson has a bunch of the top 100 committed. I didn't count but looked to be 7 to 8 or so. Just scrolled through the list looking for Key and Clemson was listed after every few scrolls.

He may be a top 100 recruit according to you, but he's not listed as one on rivals. He's ranked at #247. But forget about rivals, I guess we'll just have to trust your analysis all mighty one. You should probably take your own advice. Get a clue.

Wow, so many dramatic people posting here about an 18 year old and where he wants to go to school. Good thing we didn't take precautions by recruiting several other DEs... oh wait.

He's all LSU. Not disappointed either. Carolina loaded up at DE in this class, and we don't need a head-case on the team. The guy has spent the last 3 years screwing with the fans, coaches, and media at all of these schools, which is why I was never one to get upset over him de-committing. He's in for a rude awakening when he gets to Baton Rouge and the butt-kissing stops. He's going to have to grow up fast.

I remember the Lattimore recruitment better that you do. He pulled the hat trick on us, so don't tell me he wasn't a "look at me" guy. Just let the recruits have their fun and stop being so uptight about it.

Yes, sir. Anything you say because you run zhit. Takes someone special to compare the recruitment and antics of Lattimore to those of Key and then to claim they know Lattimore to be a "look at me" type of individual.

All depends on what recruit ranking you are looking at. Rivals has him 247, I saw where he was 84 or 89 on another site. This one has him 24. Who knows?
