Arnette to OSU per twitter

So what!!!!!...next guy in line takes his place, that also goes for Key

Can we fire mumbles now or do you all enjoy being mediocre and

Letting Clemsux beat us with a one legged QB and a head coach with an I.Q. lower than my dog out recruit us.

Sigh. Yeah, we only want the guys who want to be here. Brilliant.

glad we didn't make any coaching changes until after signing day so we could keep the class together. 10 guys later...

pout and cry about losing a 17 yr old recruit ... time for bed, least you wont see Key commit to LSU, don't want you to have nightmares

Time to make the coaching changes we need...no holding on to coaches to make the players happy...

I'm fine with it. Just calling you out like you did me. Works both ways Bo

Recruiting doesn't end with this class. Every year is the next big timer. Recruiting starts over every year. Always adding, always upgrading. Stop the whining and move on. This crap gets old with the sky is falling. SOS is here and it is what it is. Don't have to like it, but you should've gotten used to it by now.

Not the end of the world guys. We're in good shape with Lammons, Harris and Green for next year. Would have only been nice to have kept Arnette due to his size 6'2 but we'll survive. What does piss me off though are these programs who are on a kid for only 2 weeks and they choose them over a team who invested years pursuing them. Guess you can do that though when your old Urban! An early signing period is needed badly to prevent these big name schools from stealing other schools recruits when their #1 targets de commit or turn them down.

Most kids aren't loyal.

What at is interesting (and sort of sad too) about this situation is most OSU fans on their boards think Arnette is just a last resort type recruit for them until they can get a higher profile recruit in.

Spurrier mine as well retire. He won't accomplish the things he's set out to accomplish. No SEC title, and won't even play for another one. Gets beat by half the SEC in recruiting and keeps some of the worst defensive coaches I've ever seen on the payroll. Yes, I'll pull for us no matter, but that's the reality that so many wish to ignore. Put a fork in that...

We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

A 17yr old held our Hall of Fame coach hostage. Whammy can thank Key for his job.

Re: We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

If you believe what you say. Then your an idiot. Our coaches have recruited 3-4 DE since key told them he was not coming to USC. The only ones that he played was the so called media folks that he played like a drum. Imcludinf fgf media folks.

Re: We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

Pathetic is an understatement. The alumni and fans of USC have been cheated.

Might not have closed too well in recruiting, but..

..at least our great and excellent coaching staff is fully intact for another great season of "coaching 'em up."

Re: We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

Said sc current players told him 'stuff' that helped him make the decision. If true, and that's a big if, that doesn't say much for player coach relationships. At least three transfers have taken shots at the coaches on the way out, too. Smoke - fire.

Re: We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

We held onto coaches for a few reasons: 1) to hang onto recruits (this completely backfired), 2) because Spurrier doesn't like firing people (unfortunately no one is man enough to tell him that having to fire coaches comes with the territory of a $4 million head coaching job), 3) it would require a real assessment of his son as recruiting coordinator (and Spurrier's decisions appear largely guided out of protecting his son), 4) because firing coaches would require hiring new ones (and Spurrier has made it well known how he hates coaching searches ... not part of the job description for his $4 million job I guess ... ), and 5) Spurrier just flat-out does not appear to be in touch with the current state of our football program (see his mind-boggling comments throughout the season and his terrible mis-management of the program this off-season).

Would you please enlighten me as to a quotes where the "three transfers took shots at the coaches on the way out."..

Far as truths go , one thing I do know, don't believe any words a kid says, after saying he choose his school by pulling a name out of a hat ..

and just before that he said this was the biggest decision of his life

Maybe some of those "players" were some of the non-players who decided not to return next season. There was talk of some players who didn't really care so look for others to fall by the road before next season. Got to cut out the cancers.

Let's look at it like this. Reality slapped us in the face this season. Sure, DT put up big numbers, but we still lost half of our games. Less than 2 years removed from Clowney and we won't put 1 single defensive player in the NFL. How the hell does that happen, when we have 3 straight 11-2 seasons? How are we currently that low on talent?

Maybe I was expecting too much, but I thought we had something to build on. Spurrier brought in Lattimore, Clowney and led us to 3 straight 11 win seasons. I thought that would inspire other highly rated recruits to come to South Carolina.

Re: Might not have closed too well in recruiting, but..

Can't wait to see Wards excellent game plans for stopping one legged QB's, the wildcat, 4th quarter blown leads, the #1 draft pick dropping into coverage on 3rd and 7, making a backup QB look like a Heisman trophy candidate, taking 4 start d lineman and turning them into 1 start SC State type talent. We need to to start over.

You people need to stop being delusional

Mumbles has to go along with his band of idiots. There's no reason to keep him now. We also need a head coach in waiting for recruiting. We're going back to the dark ages if something isn't done and fast.

Re: We "stand pat" to save a recruiting class. Pathetic.

Total effup by the coaching staff.

This staff quit, maybe because they thought Spurrier was retiring. Then they tried jumping into high gear but it was too late.

Meanwhile, that school up north is eating our lunch.

Re: Might not have closed too well in recruiting, but..

What's surprising is that OSU, FSU, Oregon, etc. haven't been able to see what excellent defensive staff coaches USC has but hasn't burned up the phone lines trying to hire them away.

Anyone Up For Golf?

We should take a play out of Spurrier's book and forget about football by playing some golf.

Quit the Negativity Guys

And you wonder why our class fell apart at the and with the wonderful, optimistic fan support we have on this board. Not only do they see us turning on our own but the level of pessimism here would lead them to go elsewhere to see success. I know according to Key the hate showed him on Gamecock web boards played a role in his flipping. Kids want to play for an energized fan base and not Debbie downers who preach doom and gloom. Heck I would have done the same as many of our flips if I read this board.

We're Any of Our Coaches...

approached by other teams? It may be telling that none of our staff were hired away.
