Around a month ago somebody posted about fire ants.

Congratulations

oh wait, um. What would the political folks do
Or rather say since they don’t actually do much

Well in my yard after all that rain.
THEY'RE BACK. dang
Strange this year the fire ants have been a minimum in my yard. Instead I see black ants. I wonder if they take out the others. I can use Orthene to take them out also.

Here is something that works....but must be put down during a dry period of 3 days or so. Put about a 1/3 cup of grits on top of the mount. The workers will take it down to the queen....she will eat it and her belly pops open killing her and the colony moves. Learned this when I was with (the largest pest control company)....does no environmental harm.

Get granules for fire ants and spread it out on your entire yard, not just the mounds. That way when the ants start to come up there's already granules there for them.
