Auburn Fires Bryan Harsin

This guy wasn't a bad coach before he got there and he's not a bad coach now. He just didn't belong there. He needs to get back in his element. If he does, he'll be quite alright.

Boise has done poorly without him. Maybe a reunion should happen? Just a $25M career detour for him ($15M buyout + $5M per year for 2 years).

Bill O'Brien, someone the boosters can easily control. Ha. Did they hire an AD yet?

Since Liberty is private I don‘t believe the buyout is public. But there’s no way a buyout of a coach to the school is $20M. Maybe a couple of million, if that.

You are probably correct. I got the $20MM from a banner strip on espn so, it may have been referring to the previous news bit. I did try searching for it but never found any amount stated.

HOWEVER, in my defense take a closer look at the numbers. $5 million/year for 8 years, a $20MM buyout would definitely be in line with the current market. And if Liberty is willing to pay $5 million a year, for a relatively long term contract, a $20 million starting point is peanuts.

Maybe for the buyout the school owes him if he is fired without cause. As we know all too well (Muschamp) those can be 8 figures. But agents don‘t allow huge numbers for what a coach owes the school if he leaves.

Same could be said of Skip Bertman at LSU, who did a masterful job as AD for nine years, I think it was. Unfortunately, not all ex-baseball coaches are premier ADs, apparently.
Concur, just making fun of past responses on this board of Tanner etc.
