Unless something changes, Vogel can't get it done. He simply can't get outs. Has trouble holding runners and getting the third strike across. Also has location problems.

It's a shame. He has talent. Just doesn't have the command.

Also, when they try to steal with runners on the corners and 1 out, they are likely trying to get the runner home from third. Should be catcher's indifference.

Sounds like we are having all kinds of problems. I know mid-week games don't count as much but I tend to think of them as a gauge to where the program is. If we struggle in most of our mid-week games, then we are not developing our talent fast enough. Hopefully we will get better as the season goes on. Thanks for the updates thus far.

Going into the 4th inning, USC leads 4-2.

Hopefully, Clarke Schmidt can hold Furman down.

Murray to pitch for Schmidt for USC. 1 out in the top of the 8th.

USC 5 - Furman 2

Schmidt pitched 4.2 innings, gave up 4 hits and no runs.


Murray gets out of the inning. Still 5-2 going to the B8.
