I posted this in another thread in response to another poster but just thought I would post this here.
The after photo was last fall before IPF and before Springs brooks plaza was started so this will need to be updated after those are finished but it shows you just how far we have come in a little over a decade.

. . . . and we've only just begun! SEC $$$ has contributed very much to the changes around W-B, but the determination and resolve of our leaders, alumni and supporters has been the driving force in the 'Carolina Miracle'.

I can only imagine what it will look like after the plaza. Never though that I would see it.

As a Clemson fan I am very impressed with the upgrades. It was long overdue but they are maximizing the area with quality upgrades. But let's don't get crazy. It still doesn't compare to the tailgating at Clemson. The only thing I give you is the ability to get out of town quicker. But that's a must in Columbia.

Not really sure what to think about this post... you calling tater town a destination spot? Place sucks pretty bad dude, don't kid yourself.

Almost makes me want to apply for graduate school. I remember the days of the Tally Ho! and trying not to get an under-age ticket as we passed through the wasteland that was the fairgrounds.

Well, the only fans I've ever seen try to get out of Columbia fast have been the quempsum fans the last five years.

Plus, let me add, I have never ever and I do mean never ever heard anyone talk about what a wonderful place quempsum is to tailgate, except of course, tater fans.

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

Love what we have done. I hope we attempt to purchase as much property surrounding the stadium as we can. Would love to see most of the industrial area tuned into Greenpeace like Gamecock Park. Would love to see us purchase the national guard armory property(move it out to the interstate like the farmers market- don't know if that is even possible). I have often wondered if a developer could transform some of the area with mixed retail and residential. I hope we continue to look for way to improve the stadium area
