By the time we play CU our defense should be thoroughly comfortable with the new scheme and whether or not Watson is healthy we will slow them down enough for our offense to be able to score enough against their rebuilt defense to win. LSU always seems to have our number but Miles could do something stupid. I think 7-0 is very possible.
I can see 6-1 at home. 6-1 at home and 2-3 on the road for an 8-4 season would be a phenomenal season.
I agree with this. I believe in Jon Hoke. I believe the defense will be much improved with a talented defensive line, a better scheme & improved secondary. There will be no excuse for the defense to be lacking. We have TWO defensive coordinators! Ward's ONLY job will be to stop the run. I can live with our offense struggling at times but not our defense. With that being said I believe 6-1 or 7-0 at home is a realistic possibility. Let's see how they come out & perform Sep 3rd. Win a few games in a row & we could ride some momentum to a good year. The HBC still has some left in the tank.
Me too, but I don't think so. Why y'all think Ws over UF and Clemp are automatic is a mystery to me. On paper, both are better. Who knows? Maybe UF's new coach will turn out to be the next Spurier. It doesn't take much to win with UF's talent. UK beat us last year, and I remind you that Ward and Deke are still on staff. LSU is very talented and looking to prove a point this year. They'll likely paste us like aTm did last year.
I don't agree that CU is better than us on paper. Maybe if you assume that our defense won't be much better than last year and theirs won't be much worse but I don't accept either . We have an unknown QB with an OL that may be pretty good, they have an injury prone QB with a very inexperienced OL. We'll see what happens.

UF will not be any good and we should beat them at home.I give taters and UK all the credit last year for beating us. But we get them at home and we haven't lost to them at home in years. But nobody is saying Clemson will be automatic.
At this point, even after last years disaster on defense, we should be expecting 7-0 at home. LSU and Clemson both have glaring problems along with sc that needs to be addressed. So there are no games on that home schedule that I see that make me say oh crap. They are all very winnable games at home, but at the same time you could easily lose a few of these games with a slew of mistakes.

If WB Stadium plays to a high energy level as it has in the past with Alabama and Georgia, we win them all. Improved defense feeding on that atmosphere it is done. If the stadium is flat like Missouri last year, Auburn years past; the team plays flat. I am calling for 7-0.
Best case is 7-0....we are due to take down LSU, Clemson is beatable, UCF is dangerous but we should win, UF doesn't have an OL. Not saying it will happen, but that is the best case in my mind.

That's a bold statement to say UF will not be any good, besides last year their recruiting has been elite. They have enough top talent to play with anyone, if they can develop a QB they will be very dangerous and that defense will be very good again.

Clemson should worry more about having Watson finish a single month without a major injury before they start thinking about wins in stadiums where they have become the opening lounge act for the State High School finals over the past decade
