CFP OR BOWL BOUND?

The SEC is likely to get 4 or 5 teams in the playoffs.

If Texas beats UGA in the SEC Championship, it gets a little more interesting.

Texas would Tennessee are both in.

Then you have USC, Bama, UGA, Missouri and Ole Miss all with 3 losses.

UGA probably gets that third spot because they would have only lost two in the regular season.

However, it's still important they lose to Texas as it breaks that 2 loss seal on teams from the SEC.

So beyond those three teams (Texas, UT, UGA), will the committee opt for head-to-head or the hotter team(s) given that all of these have mix and match wins/losses?

Will the committee consider intangibles like us getting screwed in the LSU game and the fact we took BAMA to the ropes in their stadium?

As silly as it sounds, opinions like Finebaum might carry a little weight and he has stated he likes us in this scenario.

Unfortunately, SC was not taken seriously when we started the streak, so we didn’t move up quicker /sooner.
I am not sure with Clempson getting a ACC title shot helps us it hurts us.
We will probably be 13 or 14. Hopefully 12.
I don’t see Arizona State being better than us

Texas will beat UGA. Their defense is legit.

I think it's bowl game. Like others have said those head to heads against Ole Miss and Alabama are deal breakers IMO. I hope not. Still, we are getting incredible good press from the national media with this run. All credit to Beamer and our team.

This. Just play the mental game of how you'd feel if we were even in record with Bama, had a higher SOS and a higher ranked top win, and the head to head.

How would you feel if they got in over us?

It's funny because many "Bama fans" I've read online feel like OU loss should have eliminated them from the playoff conversation and aren't happy with their first year coach.

Heather Dinich from ESPN has Miami getting in. Blew a 21 point to lead to Syracuse. Ne real quality wins. What a joke. That would keep a 4th SEC team out. Wonder if they go that route to get out of picking between 3 SEC 3-loss teams.

I remember the mass exodus when Saban retired. Logically, you expect a down year, but i can see where it would be hard to swallow for them.

I'm sort of betting on Tampa and the Relia-Quest bowl.

But I also think the Citrus in Orlando is a real possibility too.

So are the traditional bowls associated with the playoffs now? Do we know what bowls are available for the also-ran crowd? I havent looked into that

I'm just ready for a decision. I've booked hotels in various cities just in case.

Ohhh --- I guess I've got to bite since you've been stating this the last few weeks.

Why are you randomly booking hotel rooms in random cities before a location is officially announced?

It's not the Olympics and these host cities have ample rooms for a single football game and holiday crowd. :)

We finished the regular season 6-0, beating 3 nationally-ranked teams including one of them on the road. If there's a team in the nation with a more impressive latter half of the season, I'd like to know so I can tip my proverbial hat to them.

And zero bad L’s. Bama never led while getting beat by vandy, ole miss lost at home to uk.

I ain’t pulling for Clemson, period.
I would have to get in it writing from the committee and witness it being notarized myself saying that we are in if clemson wins to even consider pulling for them. Certainly cant be doing it on hopes and maybes.
