This past weekend was filled with tons of important official visitors, which we will continue to update you on as we have those conversations, but perhaps the biggest fish on campus was top rated EDGE Chandavian Bradley out of Missouri. If you'll remember, Gamecock Scoop was the first South Carolina outlet to verify Bradley was taking an Official Visit to the program, back on June 16th.
This morning, Bradley released his top 3, with South Carolina joining Tennessee and Texas A&M. I spoke with Bradley briefly yesterday and all I can tell you is that he quickly dispelled any rumors that he was committed to South Carolina, and that he probably wouldn't be doing any interviews any time soon.
That said, I am not entirely pessimistic about the idea that he could ultimately land at South Carolina. There are factors working to the Gamecocks' advantage, including that his sister lives in the Palmetto State. He also at least publically has said that NIL is not a big factor in his recruitment, which would be the immediate concern when you look at South Carolina compared to the other two.
Don't get me wrong. If you made me put money on it right now, I'd still be betting against him picking SC over the other two, but I haven't gotten the sense that this one is over or anything either. As we enter the dead period, he hasn't officially visited Tennessee yet, and can't until the season begins now. He has taken an official to Texas A&M. If you take him for his word, last night on Instagram live, he claimed the visit was "good, not great" with South Carolina, but I can't say that I know the young man well enough to say whether he is intentionally obfuscating or not. Considering he just released the top 3 with South Carolina featured, it must not have been too bad of a visit either.
All of this is really to say, don't expect insiders to know a ton about what's going through his head, but all signs point to keeping you in the loop when he makes updates for now. You'll have noticed I don't update you on every other recruit with SC in their top list if I don't feel like there's still a reason to be optimistic.
