We have mentioned in the past that South Carolina has been actively recruiting Georgia product Sam Mbake out of the class of 2022, with our last report on the four-star noting that he hopes to take a visit to Columbia whenever that is allowed.
Mbake transferred back to the Peach State from IMG Academy, so he's now at Brookwood High in Georgia. By the way, Brookwood's head coach is former Gamecock OL Philip Jones.
Back to Mbake, he's remained in touch with WR coach Joe Cox, but there's a new face involved here: Carolina '22 QB commitment Gunner Stockton.
"Gunner is trying to reel me in," Mbake told me this weekend.
