1) Said the month he was waiting to be fired at Baylor was miserable and longest month of his life.

2) Said if Muschamp feels like next year is the last if he can’t turn it around it will be awful for him and his family between now and then. Said every question all offseason will be about him, and not the football team.

3) Said looking at our roster, he doesn’t see it better next year with our best players graduating.

4). Said Tanner is linked to Muschamp and if Muschamp is gone, he doesn’t see how Tanner’s job will survive here.

5) Mentioned this is hurting recruiting because every coach out there will bbe telling kids all the time that the coaching staff at USC can’t promise them anything

6) Mentioned Muschamp would be smart to negotiate the buyout that it would be worth less money to clear up the uncertainty for his family.

7) Said he doubts it would matter or happen at this point but mentioned the idea of firing and hiring experienced coaches. Mentioned Dabo firing Billy N. and hiring Chad Morris and also firing Kevin Steele who is considered a very good coach and hiring Venables.

Pretty dead on !!! Gotta say I agree with pretty much every word he said .

If I’m his family, I would say “Dad, we can tough it out another month for millions of extra dollars. Please collect every single dollar USC agreed to give you. Also, I would like a new car.”

Assuming we end up 4-8 this year how many wins would Muschamp have to have next year to save his job?

I say 6 wins would do it.

Points 3 and 5 to me are the whole thing. Whether or not you think having a stable program and keeping Muschamp would be good, we don't have a stable program now because of these two things.

They make millions to coach football. Muschamp and his family will forever be millionaires because of 2 failed attempts at a head coaching position. I don't feel sorry one bit. Not just about our situation, but for any coach.

Agreed.

Chuck also at one time thought Dabo was an idiot. That’s a fact. He’s just doing what everybody else is doing. Giving his two cents worth.

Who didn't think Dabo was an idiot at one point, Clemson or South Carolina fans?

6? Sadly, that shows the attitude of many. And it has been ingrained over the years due to the mediocrity. So we are going to pay a man multi millions of dollars per year, and a fan base should be satisfied with 6 wins in the 5th year of his regime. I know nothing about being an AD, but I guarantee you I can hire someone for far less than Muschamp makes that can win 6 games. Go down to Dutch Fork. I bet Tom Knotts could win 6 games and probably do it for 500k.

All these points hold water with me.

No disrespect to Knotts, but I'm not feeling too warm and fuzzy about the Gerry Faust approach. Head coaching at the major college level and at the HS level are two different animals. And he'd be a fool to put himself out there for $500k.

I think at this point, the die may have been cast. If he's back next year, I think nothing shy of a miracle will save it; "miracle' being defined as 9 or 10 wins (mayyyyybe 8) , and clear reasons for optimism toward 2021. Otherwise, next year is just a formality. Just my thoughts....

Then why bring him back? He's a lame duck coach and he's being setup to fail if he has to win 9 games. Frankly, I think the bar is low for Muschamp because of the buyout.

I'm not trying to be argumentative ... just thinking out loud.

That's what leaders do. That's what winners do. If BOOM! is really a Saban disciple he wouldn't need to be told this.

I don’t disagree with your premise. Glad I don’t have to make the decision - that’ll be up to someone who makes more money than me. :)

Only the #NeverChampers, imposters and whiners here on THE FGF could turn Chuck freaking Reedy into some football expert insider.
Guy knows less than 80% of the posters here, and that's saying something.

I don't think so. Tom Knotts at Dutch Fork is 0-3 vs Chuck Reedy at Goose Creek. Point I'm making is, if you have equal talent on both sides, a college experienced coach like Reedy will beat a high school coach.

If I was him, I would negotiate a buyout and take my shit to the NFL as a coordinator.
