Elliot is a top-notch recruiter. Evidently he has also been the play-caller since Morris left.I think their offense is so systematic at this point that it might not make that big of a difference who is calling the plays. If he leaves, how much of a difference will it really make? Now if Venables leaves, I think that's a different story. But is their offense plug-and-play at this point?
Now the larger issue might be recruiting if Elliot is a major player there for them.
It may be systematic but whoever is there needs to make the right calls at the right time. Elliot did a great job with that. I think recruiting will be their big issue. They may also promote their QB coach, he is very highly thought of around there. I think it is Brandon Streeter.I think their offense is so systematic at this point that it might not make that big of a difference who is calling the plays. No doubt. If Elliot gets the job, we be immediately told that Scott is the real brains behind the offense
That was the name being bandied about yesterday.I read sumwhere Kevin Sumlin is also being considerd as a candidate
That would make sense. Streeter came from the mighty Richmond Spiders IIRC.He will make Scott and Streeter, the QB coach, co-OCs
Streeter called plays wherever he came from as sole OC.
