no flame here.. Who do you think will have more sacks this year?

I think clowney will have a solid year, in the 8-10 sack range, since he pretty much has to if he wants to get a long term deal.

I just hope clowney can stay healthy. If he does I think both will have a great year.

Clowney clearly has more potential, though Beasley is obviously a beast too. I would bet Clowney, but you never can predict injuries, etc. Both should have great careers.

Clowney benefits by being on a better defensive team. Opposing offenses will be more concerned with JJ Watt. However, the NFC South has some pretty horrible teams so Beasley could have a field day during divisional games. Could go either way...I hope both stay healthy and have good seasons.

Clowney is an absolute beast, no doubt; but so is Vic. Clowney has health issues, and Vic is even a little more athletic.
At this point, I might tend to guess Vic. His performance at the NFL combines is just crazy.

imo....if clowney stays healthy, its clowney......beasley is not an everyday DE....hes too small.....i think hes a great player, but just will not play as much as clowney.....more snaps for clowney=more sacks.....and no, im not flaming either

I hope they both stay healthy, have great careers, and bring tons of money back to South Carolina. To answer your question, with the seriousness of the injury that JC suffered on that crappy field, I'd have to go with Beasley.

Atlanta's GM is a goner if Beasley can't get at least 8 sacks. That's a pretty low bar.

Seems like ever since a reserve on his own team blindsided him during a practice and gave him a stinger that kept him out for several weeks he had nothing but trouble from injuries. I think he owes that dude a major ass-whoopin, but maybe Clowney's the forgiving type.

clowney will really need to recover and then avoid injury, which i am not cure will happen. beasley will not play every down, maybe 2nd and 3rd downs & long to go. I think they will both end up with 6-8 sacks. good luck to them both.

Not certain how much Clowney will play this year. But over a career I suspect Clowney will lap him.

Clowns is about 98% right now. Should be good for the season .

Beasley gained 15 pounds for the combine and it obviously held well seeing his performance of out-lifting all D Lineman including tackles, his insane vertical at that size, and his 40 time. He is also the healthier of the two right now. Clowney if stays healthy is a NFL HOF potential. Hope both do well

I am so impressed by this thread. It does appear that Tigers and Gamecocks can indeed have civil, intelligent dialogue once the garnet and orange glasses are taken off, and the kool aid bar is shut down. Thanks for restoring my shaky faith in humanity guys. ;)

I was sick in my stomach with the Falcons drafted Beasley, another wasted 1st round pick, but something the Falcons are known for so it should have been expected. But to answer your question, if both are 100% the entire season Clowney and it won't be close.

I'd be the first one to admit that clowney is a once in a decade type of college player, i just wonder if he can carry that to the next level. He'll have ups an downs this year, i just wonder if he can keep his mind right during the downs.. history tells me he cant.

As for Beasley, dude is a freakish athlete, and has his head on straight, but in games with run heavy offenses I dont see him being a factor. I do think he'll have a good freshman campaign, just not what we came to expect at Clemson.

Clowney was NFL ready right out of high school. That's rare. Beasley...has decent size, but need some more weight and explosiveness because NFL O-Lines can be near equivalent to a brick wall. But Beasley can be patient and make plays. I wish both success.

Clowney clearly has the advantage of playing opposite if JJ Watt. No way he draws a double team with Watt on the other side. Advantage Clowney. I think Beasley out works him and passes him late in the season.
