The South Carolina coaching staff is back on the road this week as it is a contact period again and coaches around the country are out to check in on prospects.

As a reminder, a coaching staff can meet and communicate in person with senior prospects but can only drop by the high school of underclassmen at this time, not actually meet with them.

South Carolina defensive coordinator Clayton White completed an in-home visit with Fitzgerald (Ga.) high three-star linebacker E.J. Lightsey on Monday night. You may remember Lightsey's name from earlier in the process when the Gamecocks were on his radar before he eventually turned his attention to other schools.

A one-time Florida commit, the Gamecocks are back in it here and he's expected to take an official visit later this month.

** Shane Beamer, new coach Sterling Lucas and White are all in the Jacksonville area today where they'll check in on Columbia High's 2023 four-star LB Jaden Robinson, 2023 WR Tray Tolliver and 2023 four-star DB Amare Ferrell.

They'll also check in on Westside 2023 four-star DL Jordan Hall, Bolles 2023 TE Connor Cox, Bartram Trail 2023 four-star DB Sharif Denson and 2023 three-star LB Grayson Howard, all of which visited for junior day this past Saturday.

** South Carolina offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is in Alabama today to meet with four-star QB signee Tanner Bailey. Satterfield also was scheduled to drop by Northridge HS, home of class of 2023 three-star OL Wilkin Formby, who landed an offer from the Gamecocks today.

** Offensive line coach Gregg Adkins hit some in-state schools Tuesday to check up up on Dillon (S.C.) 2024 OL Josiah Thompson, Woodland 2024 four-star OL Kam Pringle, Oceanside Collegiate 2023 four-star OL Monroe Freeling and Phillip Simmons 2024 ATH Troy Stevenson. He also was set to stop by Fort Dorchester High.

** Wide receiver coach Justin Stepp was in Texas on Monday where he checked in on DeSoto High, home of 2023 four-star WR Johntay Cook II (offers from everyone) and at Southlake Carroll, home of 2022 signee Landon Samson.

On Tuesday, Stepp is in Nashville to check in on Montgomery Bell, Ensworth School, Lipscomb Academy and Brentwood Academy.

The Gamecocks have offers out to 2024 LB Edwin Spillman and 2023 three-star WR Jacob Page, among those schools, with several other intriguing underclassmen there too.

** South Carolina tight ends coach Erik Kimrey was in his Midlands territory today, hitting Ben Lippen, Westwood, Blythewood, Ridge View, Richland Northeast, Lower Richland and Dreher.

As we've told you before, RNE has an intriguing young QB in class of 2025 Will Wilson and RV is home to 2022 PWO OL offeree Tray Franklin.

** South Carolina running backs coach Montario Hardesty was scheduled to be in Georgia today, to check out Appling County, Washington County, Baldwin, Mundy's Mill.

Appling County is home to three-star RB Jaylen Johnson, who appears to have emerged as a target with strong interest in the Gamecocks. Mundy's Mill is home to four-star RB Jerrick Gibson, a 2024 blue-chipper that is committed to Florida, though he pledged to the old class.

** Torrian Gray is in Virginia for the next two days and today was scheduled to be by Oscar Smith, Western Branch, Hampton, Phoebus, Maury and Indian River.

The Gamecocks have an offer out to 2024 four-star DB Asaad Brown and today they offered 2023 three-star WR Paul Billups.

** Pete Lembo was in Pennsylvania today where he was scheduled to go by Dallastown, Wyomissing, Pennridge and Archbishop Wood.

The Gamecocks have offers out to 2023 four-star OL Jven Williams and 2023 four-star LB Phil Piccioitti.

Archbishop four-star LB Semaj Bridgeman is another top prospect in the area.

** Jimmy Lindsey hit Georgia today, where he'll also be for the rest of the week, to check in on Calhoun, Rome, Cedartown, Central Carrollton, Carrollton and Douglas County.

Rome is home to 2023 four-star DL Stephiyan Green, who has emerged as a priority for the Gamecocks, and 2024 four-star TE Martavious Collins. Central is home to 2023 three-star DB Vicari Swain, who has an offer from Carolina.
