College football (or lack thereof) and socialism

Which part? The cancelling of 2 of the Power 5, or the decision of at least 2 of the Power 5 to play (although that could change).
All of it. This has everything to do with risk.
Not health risks.
But legal/financial risks.
The SEC will wait it out the longest. Get as many non refundable tuition checks as possible.
All these schools know they aren’t playing.

Much like McDonald’s serving piping hot coffee that they knew would injure people severely if they got it on them - but they served it anyway because the hot temps would allow them to serve cheap coffee which helped their bottom line. They gambled, and ultimately lost - but their decision was completely based on milking the market for every penny.

It’s the same thing here. How much risk is any business/conference ready to take on for the monetary reward. It’s completely up to them to play their business the way they seem fit.

Socialism would be government making them, or not making them play for some common “good.” These are individual entities that are running their own businesses. And we’ll see who comes out ahead financially. It could literally go either way.

An interesting philosophy. I actually think that the SEC schools are dead-set on playing, and may be hamstrung by the science that shows if you want to get the virus, participate in group activities (without a real bubble).

So, for instance, having the country's leader say "They should absolutely play!"... or is that facism? Do you think they SEC is taking into account the leader's comments? It's hard to imagine that these southern states would ignore it.

I think trump bought the SEC a little more time (or maybe even forced their hand to delay a bit - you have to know your customers). But ultimately, it will be a business risk assessment as to whether or not they proceed.

BLM is a Marxist organization- and it seems the collective group college and professional athletes support it. It’s becoming common for players kneel for the national anthem which is the equivalent of taking a dump on the American Flag..... Meh..... sports may be dead.

hmmm... kneeling in protest (a protected 1st amendment right) is "taking a dump" but making a bikini out of the flag is acceptable. Good logic.

burning an American flag, or wearing something that resembles one as a thong is just as protected as taking a piss or dump on one. I agree with the RIGHT to do so. Doesn’t mean I have to support someone for doing it and supporting their communist/Marxist organization based on a false left wing narrative and be on board with it because the way in which they are protesting is “legal”. I have the right to tell them and their fake narrative to go to hell. Just as they... they being people like a Colin Kapernick have the right to cut up an American a flag and use it as toilet tissue if they want. I don’t “have”’to support them.

i have no issues with attractive bodies in a patriotic thong or bikini as you posted. Depending on the booty it’s wrapped around- I am very supportive of it. As that person modeling it is probably pro American.

None of those images look like an American flag that was cut up and made into a bikini.

By not understanding that the right to protest is just as pro-American - even if distasteful to some - as someone toting an AR-15 to a peaceful protest because they have an open carry permit. That's where you don't get it. You're acting as judge and jury about what the 1st amendment means rather than looking at the issue. If the flag is as sacred as you say, then it would not be worn in someone's butthole.

I respect the heck out of Anyone protesting something when they clearly believe in their cause.

I’d be proud to support their right to protest.

I support the right to protest and exercise freedoms. That doesn’t mean I can’t think less of someone for the way they are protesting. I think someone who burns an American flag, or kneels and throws up a black supremacy fist during the national anthem is a piece of crap. That doesn’t mean I think they shouldn’t be allowed to do it.

btw..... Those bikinis were never American flags. They were cloths made out of Stars and Stripes that resemble the American flag. I have no issue with them personally- sorry. If YOU do then go start an anti-patriotic bikini movement. You have the right to do so and I support it. But Don’t expect me to actually join your stupid cause because the constitution allows you to do so. Plus- leftist groups are burning and stepping all over pieces of cloth that are actual
American flags. I agree with the right- but not the act. It’s going accomplish the exact opposite of convincing me in supporting whatever your issue is in the first place

This is such a tired false trope. Every organization or person wanting a change in the economic/power structure has been labeled a Marxist communist for the last 90 years. Roosevelt taking steps to end the depression.... Bolshevik economics. MLK wanting the right to vote, have a living wage and be treated with dignity........ dangerous communist and a threat to Christianity. BLM wanting an end to systemic police brutality ..... Communist who hate America and disrespect our military and flag.

Threaten establishment economics that benefit the wealthy power structure and you are.......?

So believing in a cause is taking a knee for 2 minutes before driving your Bentley to your 10 million dollar mansion? Wow that is some dedication...

People wanting to "protest" should have to apply for a permit, wait several days, submit to a background check, and be checked for mental health issues before they can exercise that right.

And if they want to exercise that right outside of their home or property, they must apply for another permit and pay for mandatory training.

Sound familiar?
