Dad wands CeCe Jefferson (5 Star DE) to get away

Maybe the kid is mixed up in some stuff back home, and his dad wants him away from there.
Maybe the father is another Cecil Newton.
Maybe the mother/father are like Dunlap's parents were.

This saga is really weird.

It's not weird at all. A dad wants his 18 year old to get out of his house. lol. Dad probably wants a man cave and needs that room.

He sounds solid about Florida even though his dad doesn't. Even if he does sign somewhere else, I believe it will be Fla. St. because of his relationship with Lawing.

I've seen speculation that the Dad was promised $$ by Ole Miss and is desperately holding off in an attempt to push the Rebel Black Bears.

I have a mutual friend with a former Alabama staffer under Saban, we were all drinking beers a few years ago and he said it is common knowledge around the SEC and country that Ole Miss cheats more than any other school.

They also have the most arrogant, snobby students/alums you'll ever meet. My company's home office is in Jackson. I used to amuse corporate friends with my accuracy in guessing right the Ole Miss alums - real a-holes. Good looking women, though.

Well since we signed 73 defensive ends in this class I'll assume USC is not an option. If it were another position we might have had a better shot. Good luck to the kid. I hope he finds the right place for him because that's what is most important!

Arden Key had an offer and dropped us, so we obviously did not exhaust our DE offers. At this point, we may not have a scholarship left to offer though.

Seriously though, sounds like he really wants to be a Gator. Dad needs to back off and just be proud of the boy, and let him make his own decision.

I thought I saw an article where the kid was upset or was wavering that the DL coach at UF bolted for the NFL.

That's funny but probably true.

Also, his Dad finally now wants the "two big chicken breasts" that's served on the kitchen table on Sunday and finally putting the stop of the "opening of the squeaky back door" and tip-toes through the house at 1:00 AM by he and his wife's bedroom.

I am not going to touch the chicken breast argument, bu the squeaky back door and tip-toes thing. That seems like a clincher for me. Dad knows what's best.

Lived in MS a while. The folks in Oxford think there is nothing like it, but there really nothing there. The states claim to fame is highest obesity, highest medical malpractice suites, extremely poor educational system. Most are fat dumb and minimally literate. But its all someone else's fault.

They love their politics and are extremely anti federal government, but receive more federal money in Medicaid and other than almost any other state.

I has several hs coaches tell the that the state produces so many pro football players per population, but has sorry college football is because so few players have the minimal grades and scores to play D1
