Clemson Sports Information Director Ross Taylor told ABC Columbia Sports Monday night that Wilkins’ dance was part of the program called “Dancing with the Tigers”.

I've lived in the upstate my whole life, except when I attended Carolina, and that's the story I've always heard. I believe Danny's daughter was only 15 or 16 at the time but I could be wrong. Just wondering if others had heard the same.

Might be a rumor but I've heard the Allen story from numerous Clemson people starting when Danny resigned (yes I know he didn't have a choice) in January 1990. Yes I also heard the explanation you give but I don't think that is the real reason and your use of multiple exclamation points doesn't convince me. Also why is it an obvious rumor?

I always figured the Allen rumor had legs cause it surfaced before Danny resigned. Most felt Danny was justified but he went a little further than could be contained if he stayed on as coach.

Some people with influence over the board threatened to get rid of Atchley if that happened, but he did it anyway and was then fired by the board. Dean Cox (father of a very influential civilian/military judge who I think headed an investigation into the USS Greeneville disaster) served as acting president for a year and then they brought in Max Lennon from Ohio State. I believe Lennon only came in with the understanding that he would be completely in charge, over both the academic and athletic side. Danny decided to challenge the new administration on the football dorm vs Vickery Hall tutoring center - he wouldn't back down and thought he could get the new president fired because he was even more popular than McClellan. I heard those rumors about Danny, but I think that was just ancillary and with the previous administration it wouldn't have mattered. The new administration at best used them to muscle through his departure, but the real reason was to finally establish control over the AD.

Wasn't McClellan the AD that presided over the whole institutional sponsored cheating scheme. In other words, he (BOT members and booster as well) planned and carried out their blueprint for recruiting elite athletes to Clemson (primarily football and basketball).

Well, Dabo is on the same path. He gets more arrogant as the years go by it seems. He doesn't answer questions he doesn't want to answer. He either laughs it off as players just being silly like Boulware and Wilkens poking and fondling other player's junk during a game, or he attacks the media like he did over the strip tease and Chippentater disaster, shaming the press for asking such a question. He thinks he can do that as long as he wants, and he can when it comes to the Greenville media. It's going to take someone from elsewhere to pull back the curtain on him, but sooner or later, he'll be forced to admit or at least respond to questions re: the acts of his players and himself.

In today's college sports atmosphere any action that can remotely be misinterpreted as sexualizing college athletes of any gender should be avoided at all costs. Somebody really didn't think that whole thing through.

Perhaps a good litmus test is to ask:

Would it have been proper if this incident had occurred at Baylor?

Auburn showed them the way with Scam Newton. Think about it. Since that ruling Clemson has been signing 5-Stars right and left. Big churches and funds like Habitat For Humanity act as fronts for family money. As far as his daughter. She does have a child that is interracial. Whether it is Terry Allen's, or not, can be up for debate. Kid is probably in his early 20's at this point.
