I don't like Jon Voight's politics. He talks politics a lot and shares his views openly. He's largely celebrated in Conservative circles for doing so. He's appeared regularly on right leaning outlets because they reach out to him (the same outlets who have hosts saying actors with liberal views should stay in their lane).
I love every Jon Voight movie I see- and I'll go out of my way to watch him anytime a movie of his is on TCM. It's appointment viewing in my house.
I swear there is a piece of paper with writing and a bunch of signatures on it that I swore to defend all those years I was in the Army, and the reason I defended that piece of paper was so each and every American's rights were protected. I myself am a middle of the road person who has conservative and progressive views, but it does irritate me when one side expects everyone to believe as they do and the other side gets carried away with their ideas. Political parties should be eliminated and anyone that runs for office and places interests other than that of the nation first, should have to serve 2yrs in prison without a trail

I'm f****** irriated with both sides. This is not the political scene I grew up in. The political scene I grew up in, while there were differences, they sat down like adults and came to a compromise.
I've voted for both sides over the years. However, it's crystal clear to me and most right now that there are some very unsavory individuals currently running our country. There's no way to justify some of the things that have happened under this administration.

That's not what every poll of Democrats is showing.
Primaries are mostly designed now to pick the person the party elite want.
In 2020, Republicans didn't even have a primary in some states, including South Carolina, when Trump was running for reelection. They did the same for George HW Bush and George W Bush. Democrats did the same in some states when Clinton and Obama ran for reelection.
So, I don't think it's fair to say that Democrats on the whole picked Joe Biden. Some Democrats picked him because he was mostly the only choice. In some states, the % of Democrats voting in their own primary was tiny. The majority of Democrat voters didn't participate in the process.
Democrats have been pretty consistent for awhile now that they'd prefer another candidate. So, I don't think encouraging him to drop out at this point is any earth shattering surprise. In most ways, it's the only way to make sure Democrats get to pick someone else- which is what all polls show Democrat voters want to happen.
In my opinion, Biden and Kamala were hand-picked by Obama, Intel and the Corporate Conglomerate in 2020 to be cardboard cutouts for their agenda and they played the perfect role for the Kleptocracy. What they didn't anticipate was Biden completely malfunctioning before this next election and now that Kamala's VP role is nothing but a burden to them. They'll find a way to ditch her for someone like Whitmer and hope that their 2020 tactics plus the immigration vote (amazing) will overcome Trump.
The problem is that everyone is hip to the mail-in ballot fraud now and the Republicans are going to have a ton of staff (including lawyers) overseeing it this time. Biden's record has been terrible and Trump is on a roll so I can't imagine he doesn't win unless he finds a way to screw it up because he can be his own worst enemy at times.
We need better candidates though. Desantis would have been great and has done an amazing job in Florida. I had to goto a convention in Miami not too long ago and that place is completely different from the last time I was there. It's too bad he's not as good as they politician crap as he is a leader because both sides of the aisle really like the guy down there.

Obama didn't want Joe Biden to run for president and was clear about that. Numerous reports at the time said he tried to talk him out of it and he told other people that he tried to talk him out it hoping to apply behind the scenes pressure. If Obama was picking someone (he wasn't), there are several others he would have picked ahead of Biden.
Mail in ballots have been happening for years. Nothing new about it. Nothing fraudulent about them. Many Republicans have been elected on the basis of mail in ballots.
I agree we need better candidates.
if Democrats could pick someone, they'd likely pick a President and VP from the group of Mark Kelly, Wes Moore, Josh Shapiro, Grethen Whitmer.

Also, I would think you would be hip to misdirection given how much has come from this administration. Obama has openly stated he would like to have had a 3rd term by giving directions to the president via a microphone.
There are videos of workers stuffing the ballot box. Why do we need mail-in ballots when all it does it muddy the waters? It's a Democratic thing.

It's one reason their relationship is a bit strained now and a reason Biden hates all of Obama's advisors like David Axelrod because Axelrod was always on tv at the time discouraging Biden's prospects. Many states have used mail in ballots for years and years. There are examples of men voting from home going back to the 17th century. The Civil War saw tens of thousands of soldiers voting in camps, hospitals, on the battlefield, etc.
WW1 saw the military start to use mail in balloting on a large scale.
5 states were already holding entirely mail-in elections before the pandemic—Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Utah.
29 states and Washington D.C. allowed “no excuse” mail-in absentee voting, and 16 states allowed voters to cast a ballot by mail if they had an excuse. Florida allows every registered voter to vote by mail. Donald Trump voted by mail in Florida.
"Despite claims of vote fraud when voting is conducted outside of polling places, only 0.00006% of the 250 million votes by mailed ballots nationwide were fraudulent, according to MIT political scientists who analyzed numbers from the Heritage Foundation’s Election Fraud Database."

35 states+ require some form of ID including some Democrat led states. The others require it at registration or when a precinct worker requests it. States run their own elections
