  1. It’s soul searching time. Hell, Syracuse put up a better fight.
  2. As a player, especially an O lineman, do you even give a damn?
  3. WTH…..you weigh 320 pounds and cant get a hole, a crease, or something for a back to gain a yard?
  4. Do our receivers run 4.7 forties?
  5. I hate you Will Muschamp.
  6. Hey Satterfield…quit throwing 4 yard passes on 3rd and 9.
  7. Dear offense, stop always being in 3rd and 9.
  8. Dear strength coach…..can we keep the weight room open for more than an hour per week this off season?
……Dear players, can you work out more than an hour a week? Tater O pushed you around like rag dolls.
  9. Where’s the pride….where’s the passion….where’s the want to?
  10. Dear backs, you don’t always have to run right up the middle when there is no hole….feel free to kick it outside once in a blue moon
  11. Could someone…..anyone……get pissed off like they give a damn.
  12. AND LASTLY, in a big game, could we not illegal substitute and also burn a timeout for not enough men on the field during our first series. It is really and I mean really NOT that hard.

My advice to the entire team and coaching staff is to soak up this humiliating defeat. I would make them stand on the field and watch the Clemson players, fans, band, and cheerleaders celebrating in our stadium and they wouldn't go to the locker room until the last Clemson player left the field. Squeeze every ounce of humiliation out of this loss and sear it into their brains . . . and then swear as a team that this will never happen again. I'm not talking about simply losing. I'm talking about coming out and looking like we were completely unprepared to play the most important game of the season.

I seem to remember Jake Bentley doing that! Don't swear to something like that.

If Beamer would use the emotions he used on the sidelines to start the game with towards Marcus, we might get somewhere. I have a terrible feeling he is going to keep Marcus. If so, that very well could be the final blow for Shane before he even gets it going. Our current OC will have Shane unemployed in 4 years if he keeps him.

First of all, I agree about the OC and play calling.

With that said, just because you are 320 pounds and spend all day in the weight room, it doesn’t make you a good OL. Some of it is coaching and some of it is talent. If I went out there to play, I’d give it 110%, but it doesn’t mean I’ll be successful stopping Clemson’s DL.

Yes - we got humiliated last night. If you expected something significantly different, then maybe it’s you with the wrong expectations.

I do believe we could coach better. I also think execution should improve. But this team will not be the team that gets us to where we want to be. For that, we need significant talent upgrades - especially on offense. That will take some time.

On the bright side, we won 6 games and have a group of guys who enjoy being together and believe in each other. That alone is an upgrade over what we had. These guys are in it for the long haul, and if you aren’t, then maybe you’re the one with the problem.

What was that Nick Saban was saying about "self absorbed fans?"

Anyone who seriously thinks the players didn't care, has no idea what he is talking about. With that D-Line play from Clemson and our O-Line problems, we could have put Bryce Young or CJ Stroud back there and we still wouldn't have had a chance. It wasn't lack of desire. This year, we just don't have all the pieces in place. 6-6 with the roster issues we have had is exceeding expectations. Let's win a bowl, recruit and get this coaching staff on the right track. Those of you who just want to dwell on the negative during what will be a lengthy re-build should take up quilting or something. This is not 2016 when HBC left us with a much stronger roster. This is duct tape and Bond-O with grad assistants and transfers from small schools. No heart? These guys played hard. We were just outmatched this year.

Here is the deal....before the season on this board almost everyone was like 3 or 4 wins.....and after the season you are 6-6 and those same fans hammer our team and want to fire coaches and say how bad they are....these fans DO NOT understand football. get a life you need to be fired as fans.

My expectations? GT, BC, Syracuse, and Louisville say hello. Throw in FSU also. Not to mention the teams that beat Clemson…..UGA was the only powerhouse. Our star rating is a lot higher than Syracuse BC and Georgia Tech. So yeah, I expected us to compete but fully ready to lose a close game. I watched the taters all year. Their defense is elite. Their offense has not been against anyone. Yeah I expect more. And I played offensive line was out weighed by 50 pounds many times ……and I’ll guarantee you the other guy got an ass chewing on Monday from his coach. It’s a desire thing and u scratch and claw and bear crawl and whatever you have to do to block… These are not 320 pounders that never played football.

I also expect to not get two penalties for illegal substitution and the burn a timeout for not enough men on the field in the first 5 minutes. This is not one of those demand excellence post. I’m only asking for the average stuff.

I believe Jake swore something similar. Didn’t work out so well. JK.

I am surprised you aren't a football coach.

It worked for Tebow. Has it worked for anyone else?
Well, I'm not talking about one guy. I'm talking about a team commitment, from every player, coach, trainer, equipment manager, and anybody else associated with the product on the field. As I said, I'm not talking about a commitment to win games - there are a lot of factors beyond anybody's control which makes such commitments hollow. I'm talking about a commitment to never again suffer the humiliation of coming out unprepared against our rival.

Clemson is the better team. We were going to need a lot of things to go our way to win this game. But Clemson came in prepared and played probably their best game of the year while we looked unprepared, coming out and laying an absolute offensive egg.

Well said. All I want is to be competitive on a consistent basis. I was in the stands for the 1-21 stretch and that team was far better to watch, losing many close games but at least you weren't embarrassed. It doesn't take much talent to wrap a runners legs rather than finger tackle and watch them run down the field. We don't run any misdirection plays to try to get an aggressive defense to flow one way and run the other. After a first down 80% of the time we run up the middle. So predictable. Dropping easy catches etc. Maybe each year we should tell the players how many games we should expect to win so they can set their goal for that. Pathetic.

Suck it up buttercups! We all knew that this was going to be a crappy year for Carolina to go 6-6 and a bowl game was a major step in the right direction... My prediction was 3-9 all along...

I'm just pissed at the vocal minority of Carolina fans who never gave Beamer a chance to be Carolina head football coach... Fans wanted well established head coach or hot new up and coming assistant coach were disappointed in Beamer... These so called Carolina fans are bashing the coaches and saying our recruiting is pitiful and we'll never get 5 stars to come to Carolina... I'm starting to feel that these so-called Carolina fans would love to see Beamer and his staff fail..

I for one who believes Beamer is the right man for the job and he has proven that to me this year, going 6-6... This is not a bad season as some Carolina fans have lead us to believe... Sure last night's shut out wasn't what I predicted, but it happened and just move on... We started the season with a shut out and we just ended a season being shut out...

Again, this is a good season 6-6 and heading to a bowl game..

What you said is 100% so true! It is like these young people don’t have common sense to know, pocket full, round a different route! Don’t have mines of there own!

I believe he is the right man as well. I guess I expected a close game. Like I said….teams with less talent by all ratings have taken the to the wire. I am not a fire Shane fire Ray person. I was glad to see Beamer pissed in the first quarter. In the end, players have to make plays and not errors. People who started the fire Beamer crap after the first loss or even first few years are idiots. My frustration was based on what we are capable of vs last night.

The one problem is that we are not average.

Actually, surprisingly few said that. I dug up a preseason prediction thread and bumped it a week or so ago. Most had a lot more than 3 or 4.

The OP is venting pretty hard. This team won more games than most fans thought we could. A loss in this last game was expected but the lack of effort and fight were not.
You nailed it. This stage was not too big for the taters…but I guess it was for our team. Hoping this team going bowling is the start of believing in themselves.

In 2010 the taters went 6-7….then started upward. I hope this is the start back up for us.

No one is saying get rid of Beamer. I am happy he is here and believe that getting six wins was astounding.

And if we play Clempzon 10 times, they likely win ten.

What was painful last night and especially galling was the bad and stupid football play and play calling. In addition to the list above, three straight over the middle throws that were deflected. No one could call a QB roll out? Not kicking. Field Goal to kill the 0? Nobody getting pissed off. No tears, no ass-chewing, just seeming passive acceptance.

I am not mad today, I was last night…didn’t sleep. I need the underclassmen to swear that this won’t, can’t happen again. They need to feel this is their gut for a full year. They need to be pissed off next November. They don’t have to win but that damn sure need to try!

Agree on the "want to " not there after Shane and some players were quoted last week as saying there had been an attitude adjustment.

Congragulations on making "message board geniuses" twitter feed.

I get it and getting skunked and then bitch slapped on one's field by their rival deserves extra complaining. Meaning, it is reasonable to have expected us to at least be competitive with our talent level and experience at the O-line position.

IF you're referring to the 'Never Again' slogan, that was not Jake. That was Bryson Allen-Williams after Clemson drug our defense all over the field and hurt our players 'iddy biddy fweelings' by calling them names. OH, THE HORROR!

He's right and I would venture a guess that the vast majority of our fans are in agreement with him. And, I support him because deep down I know 'This is his dream board. He really wants to be on this board.' That should be good enough for you guys, right?

I think people are perplexed because Clemson isn't that good or elite overall this year. And they struggled offensively in an even weaker than usual ACC conference, aside from the Wake game.

We were coming in on a high note of becoming bowl eligible, so some might of thought there was a chance for an upset.

Reality kicked back in last night. Clemson has a good D and that is about it. We don't have much at all, except for some heart and fire. That wasn't going to be enough against even a non-elite Clemson team. Beamer brought a butter knife to a gun fight last night, and it showed. Offense needs major upgrades in talent at just about every position. Against a good D, and O will get shut down easily. Clemson didn't really have to do much to win. Our D is okay, but not great and needs more talent. DJ's stat's were low, but they could finally run the football. So you saw last night's outcome.

Beamer's exceeded expectations this year. He may not be a head coach or playcaller, but his strengths as an assistant here was that he was good a recruiter. He has to recruit and coach em up. Because we are Carolina, we aren't going to be getting a bunch of 5 stars like LSU or Bama or tOSU in the immediate future. We gotta do what Stoops has done at KY and Pittman at Arkansas...build a foundation. Recruit, coach, and develop.

That'd be great if these guys underperformed. I don't see why the rest of our fanbase isn't seeing the glaringly obvious I have been screaming for an entire year:
we don't have a full squad of SEC talented players or coaches and it painfully shows every game.
We have some here and there....but seriously have to remake this program by getting a qualified HC first, one who can attract and assemble a staff, recruit quality student athletes and build our program to a respectable level.
Clemson is not very good. They beat us 30-0 and it could've been much worse. Their offense is atrocious....and we had plenty of trouble with it. In short...their team didn't have the flu, a lame duck coach on his way out or any other distraction needed for our group to compete.

Fair enough. But I'll just note that my suggestion was not limited to the players.
