Devin Carter is expected to announce his decision Friday (tomorrow) at 3 p.m. with South Carolina one of the finalists.
Right now, I would say the Gamecocks are in a good spot for landing a commitment from Carter Friday and I've actually made my first FutureCast in favor of South Carolina tomorrow.
The Gamecocks do not have an open athletic scholarship in the 2020 class, of which Carter is currently a member, and there's traction about him going to prep school for a year and reclassifying to the 2021 class.
South Carolina does have one scholarship available in that class with Seventh Woods scheduled to exhaust eligibility after the 2020-21 season.
As of right now, my prediction is South Carolina. If he ultimately does pick South Carolina, we'll have much, much more on what it means and coverage of it.
