some reports suggest we targeted Loggains as early as late October.
Apparently it was his job to turn down quite awhile ago. I also don't see that anyone else was considering him for anything like a coordinator job- including Arkansas.
(I personally think this is an awful hire for a lot of reasons).
I watched a few of his press conferences in the NFL when he was offensive coordinator. My sense was he was passing the buck a lot to the head coach and when asked pressing questions, he explained he was running what everyone on the offense wanted to run. (This frustrated a lot of the fans of those teams, especially the Dolphin fans).
He doesn't seem to have an offensive approach- it's more like "whatever everyone on the offensive staff wants to do" seemed to be his answer to most every question.
I, for one, believe South Carolina needs to have an offense that is a bit different- and uses a lot of FB/TE combo players- incorporating old school FB runs and passes into the flat to the FB/TE type jumbo players.
It's what Satterfield finally did late in the year- to go along with the wide open attack.
After reading about the new guy, my sense is that is now over and we will go back to more of what we saw earlier in the year- that works great with elite talent- but is a sense of great frustration if you don't.
