Do Mascots get NIL money?

They get appearance money. Usually appearances are set up by the mascot themselves. School or teams get priority dates as per their job contract. Extras are income opportunity. When you see cocky at weddings. He’s not there for free. - mist of the time. -

Homer the Dragon for the charlotte knight's. - years ago. Made bank on appearances. Then parlayed his career to be the Rockies mascot.

I’m guessing the sponsor appearances in tv ads are mandatory part of the mascots original employment contract - plus a few bonus dollars for time and expenses.

Now. How does cocky get into the cage 😎

I was Cocky for spring sports (baseball, softball, etc.) from 2015-16.

Dollars are earned from birthday parties, weddings, and other private events where Cocky was booked, split 50-50 between the mascot & the University of South Carolina (who owns the rights to Cocky), at least when I was involved from 2015-16. No money was earned from USC sports games & university events.

In one instance, for example a $300 check was split between University of South Carolina & I ($150 each). I believe mileage was covered.
